louder high idle

i have a small problem the sho starts every time runs ok but a little weird from what I'm use to its a little louder, likes to hold RPMs at about 1500 till the car it to a complete stop then will sometimes go back to normal but still a little wired when running when i give it the gas its not getting full power it seems it cuts back a little when pushed ???

right now I'm taking the idle air control off and replacing it with a used one see if i get anything good if not i was wondering if any one has some good tips

150,000 miles
1st 60K was done around 100k i believe

TPS sensor. Whenever they go bad, high idle is usually the symptom. And the cause of your stumble. ECU gets the throttle position from it.

Pull the codes though just to be sure.

ok thanks ill take a look at it tomorrow.. would it give me a code since there is no engine light on? so i put the used IAC on and its not keeping at high idle any more but didn't fix everything so I'm thinking my catalytic converter is getting plugged? witch would explain the lose of power lower MPG and a weird idle I'm thinking.... so i was going to drill some holes and test the pressure some how see if its high in the front. or would anyone have a better way to find out if the cat is bad???
