About a month ago my car had cam failure (running now) I got a new engine dropped it in... I’ve decided to put a new head on my old one. I was wondering if the crank and everything is fine in the block. Also is there a write on how to time the glorious V8 ? Thanks.

If the damage on top of the pistons is minor then usually the bottom of the engine is fine. This is usually the case when the valves bend but do not break. They leave little 'eyebrow' marks in the top of the pistons.

What he said. When the head is off get a look at the piston and cylinder wall. If they look ok and cylinder wall feels ok-no big scratches etc. Then you should be good to go. Maybe get the cam welded while it's out would be easier.

+2 on the CAM weld. Did the new engine get the weld?

Got pictures of the old block, heads, pistons?

Yes it was welded got it from E1 crash test. And no I haven’t had time to take apart the old one.
