My radio only works for a few minutes. Then it will stop. Any ideas? The tape deck always works.

I'm assuming the stock radio correct? (since you said tape deck) Is it just the speakers that go out or everything (like the lights on the face) and does it work again after a while? Still Probally just a short somewhere, either that or it's time for a new radio

Stock radio.
It is just the speakes (all of them....no sound). But if I push in a tape, the tape will work fine. If I pull out the tape it still doesn't work.

Send me your intake and I'll do it for a small fee

hey effren,

get an in dash cd player. the fomoco stuff always breaks and the preamp section sucks. i've always had great experiences with Alpine. mine is 6 years old and never misses a beat.

my friend pierre (who also went to cal poly like myself) has a 10 year old 6 disc cd changer with matching deck in his 1978 Porsche 911SC. the friggen car even had a windshield leak and flooded the cockpit during a rain storm. the changer was under the seat and got soaked. and it still works ike a champ.

see ya,
Robby

Yeah that's it. Did you use powdercoating or what? (the outside part the not red part) I've done polishing before....even have a good secret to make that go faster...muahhaha

Well what I did was I bead blasted every thing (except the secondarys). Then painted the top of every thing silver w/ brand X, so that I would have an even base (it was a little oxidzed B4). Then used dupont touch up paint (Lt. Champane and Cherry red). It came out semi-gloss ,thank god. No powder coating...to much money. Total cost was under $20.00

It look like it will hold up just fine too.
