interior lights stuck on

Hi all, I just got my hands on a '95 ATX that was clearly someone's pretty far along project before getting donated. It's pretty mechanically solid but there's a few electrical gremlins I'm wondering how to address. When I open the door all of the interior lights come on, and only sometimes do they turn off once I start driving. I've tried fiddling with the auto lamp slider below the headlight switch but it doesn't seem to do anything. Could this be a fuse issue?

Those switches have been known to go bad. You can check the fuse but I have replaced more than one light/dimmer switch in these cars.
