so issue literaly just started i put a cone filter on the end of the stock maf what was happening was the id hit the throttle then the car would act like it was going to stall out. I thought maybe an issue with the filter having some room and maybe leaking enough went back to stock stuff still doing it after acceleration at the engine it just starts to stall then goes back, the fix seemed to be when i pulled the vacuum off the fuel pressure regulator, now about a week ago when we pulled the line off it it splurted some fuel out of the vacuum line so im wondering if you all think it might be the FPR? ty.

yeh it definetely got plugged back in, im getting the feeling it really is the fpr but im just like a tad bit doubtful. i just not sure what else would do that pulling its vacuum smoothes the idle and then doesnt bog the engine when i throttle it? then plugged in dies off... and it had fluid coming out of the vacuum line last week. i just think it almost has to be that.

vacuum lines are for air, not fuel. that is not good. did the fuel come out the hose, or the FPR?

I hate this dang auto correct...

I doubt its the fpr..

Have your tried unplugging the negative battery cable and resetting the computer when you put the new filter on?

I would just go back and double check all your work. Don't forget, an over oiled filter could play dirty with the maF sensor. Make sure its cleaned well with brake clean.

Remember, chances are if the car was fine before you did something, then runs like shit after... its probably something YOU did. ;)

pj yeh it came out the vacuum side as if the fpr had been letting fuel into it as if the inside was ******* and letting fuel get into the wrong side of the system. as for wether it was something its pheasible but i did go back and check the work more than three times nothing was left undone. i did consider the posibility that the maf got dirty with a new filter although ive honeslty only ever seen that happen with fresh k and ns that someone cleaned and resprayed the **** out of it. i will try to reset the computer and see if anything gives.

another thing is if it was the maf then pulling the vacuum line off of the fpr wouldnt change the way it would be running and would "fix" the idle or the vacuum leak feel to it after the throttle has been smashed.

At the very least, it seems like the FPR is bad, if there is fuel in its vacuum line.

a couple of points:

1. what did you do with the iat sensor when you put on the cone filter? I have never seen a SHO run right without the iat working properly.

2. your symptoms are typical of a bad tps.

please check the codes and let us know what is there.
