Anyone master of the ICP to RCC and know it like the back of their hand. I'm trying to work out a few kinks in my A/C system. It works but there are some flaws since I'm driving it with the GEN II EATC. I've been looking at EVTM for several hours now trying to figure out how what input the ICP gives the RCC. I have figured out that it appears to do it thru the Audio Corporate Protocol.

Some of the issues I'm having are all related to the fans. Currently they cycle on and off as needed to control head pressure so I'm pretty sure the High pressure switch is turning them on and off.

Thanks
Curtis

I know the high pressure switch will cycle the high speed radiator fan independent of coolant temp or vehicle speed.

So that's probably the fan that I'm getting. I still need to figure out what/how the CCRM is signaled to turn on the fans when the AC is turned on. Hopefully it is something that I can get my EATC to send and get the fans working properly.

The way my '97 works is if at speeds under 30 or so and the AC is on the high speed fan comes on.

After that it is controlled by the HPS as stated.

Look at pages 54-001 and 54-002 in the wire diagrams.

Paul,

The one thing I can't seem to locate in the entire schematic is the AC cluth coil.

It only shows up on the CCRM schematic and that revolves back to unknown. My A/C comes on and runs but without the fans until the High pressure switch kicks them on. I just need to figure out which input to the CCRM is the magic wire and what signal it recieves in order to figure out if my EATC is capable or if I can trick the system. I had considered just mounting the RCCU under the dash and just pulling the electrical I/O that are needed But that still leaves me wondering what the how/what the ICP send to the RCCU.

Paul,

Did alot of work this past week rewiring my 94cluster to work with the 97 inputs (what a pain). I got everthing except the ABS light to work correctly and thru in the towel.

Now back to my cooling fan issue. I hooked up the Xcal and laptop to recal the speedo, tach and water temp gages. Let me say that was alot of fun to play with and it gave me the time to look at the FAN control to find out if the Low fan was being commanded on. Well it is and I checked to make sure all the commands were making it to the CCRM. So I traced it to the CCRM goes in just doesn't come out.

Attention everyone:

Anyone completed a surgery on their CCRM and fix the relays. I looked on rockauto and about choked when I saw $160.79.

IIRC the GEN 3 CCRM is common among all GEN three Tauri and Sables. It has the big red R on it.

I have a couple I got for the cheap off of the fLeabay.

Sorry about the color but the R is what you need. Probably a couple million of them out in the JYs.

When to Pick N Pull.

Picked up two CCRM's both with R but different Ford part numbers. Checked the wiring out and they were both the same. I stuck the one that looked the best in (even though the part numbers were different) and my low speed fan came to life.

I looked thru the yard and found units with R, Q and V.
