I know about rod bearings, but main bearings?

Now I'm wondering, is there a time when those should be checked and replaced, before they fail? I have 150k on it without any real internal maintainence, I plan on doing it, I just can't afford it right now. Just wondering when it'd be a good time to replace em. Thanks! *knocks on wood just to be safe until then*

id say your safe.
they don't tend to wear near as fast as the rod bearings.

I'd lean toward rebuilding the motor if it needs mains. The work to do them almost constitutes a rebuild.
