I can turn my crank?

Just changed the harmonic balancer today and apon removal and the install, the pulley turned. If the pulley turns, doesn't that mean the crank is turning? As the bolt got tight the pulley turned more. Im not sure if the torque wrench is accurate (110). Should it be that easy to turn the crank? The battery was disconnected and key was off.

The motor will turn yes. You can hold the pulley with a strap wrench or clamp a C clamp on the thing so that it cannot turn either.

I pulled it just fine, getting it back on was the hard part. I dont know if I can trust my crank.

You guys are terrible.

Yes use either a thick 6in strap wrench or if you have a MTX you can try putting it in gear, and parking brake and such.

Just stick a block of wood between your rod and the side of the engine.

the other day i spun my engine over some just using my hands on the crnk pulley ... and thats w/ everything but the PS pump on ...

110ft pounds will definantly spin a crank (or move a car)
