It is a beautiful day out here in Lemont, IL. The temperature is nice, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping.........and the SHO is alive again! That's right......it's fixed! I pulled the fuel sender and pump out, and this is what I found. There's that brass fitting that goes to the rubber line connecting the pump to the fuel supply line on the sender itself. Well, the fitting was half out of the fuel pump, causing the pressure to bleed back into the tank (leak). If jammed it back in, and made sure the rubber fuel line wouldn't come loose. Put it back in....and wham....had fuel pressure of around 30 psi when I primed the pump 2 times. I took her out for a ride, no stumbling.....she was all there. Punched it....all there. Fuel pressure jumps up to around 40 psi at WOT. So for now, it's running.
~James~ I checked out the wiring on the sender, everything looks good. When I start to upgrade this car, I will be replacing the sender, right around the time I get the new fuel pump, and aftermarket pressure regulator. Now it's title time!
Thanks to everyone trying to help out, you guys are a good group of people. I'm happy to share a liking of the SHO's with all of you.
Now it's TLC time for the Sho, and my daughter is going to help me Simple Green clean the interior.....what I nice thing to do on a Sunday!!!! Hope everyone enjoys the day.
