Steve, 255LPH on a stock pressure regulator?

If so, I'm sure I heard from a few people that the stock regulator couldn't deal with that much pressure, resulting in excessive pressure at the injectors.

A pressure tester or a fuel pressure gauge would be a good place to continue from.

It did have a 255 when I purchased the car in 04, I would have to look but probably in 05 I put in an adjustable regulator. We took out the 255 when we put the car back to stock in the winter of 07/08 (i think) Car is currently running a stock pump from a buddies car that he replaced with a 190 and the stock regulator.

but as james mentioned, once we took out the big pump it started having issues and it ate a new pump in ~6 months.

I'm off tomorrow. I'm going to pull the codes and see what's there. If I can't find something simple like a TPS or Cam Sensor, then I will look to see what the pressure is at the fuel rail. I've got a lot to check out tomorrow, codes first, then pump second.

BTW, Steve: One of the service advisors at work just purchased a 2011 Mustang GT. He took the stock mufflers off, and installed some Ford Racing Mufflers with new tips. He kept the stock mufflers with the tips. He's giving them to me, said they are paper weights to him.....lol! So we will see how the old SHO sounds with factory 2011 Ford Mustang GT mufflers......

One question though.....what is fuel pressure supposed to be at idle at the rail on these cars? I'm asking in case I get to the point where I'm looking at the pump?

Alright, so I'm have a little trouble, and want to make sure I don't screw up a code and chase the wrong problem. I made a YouTube video when I do the key on engine off (KOEO), and then right after I did a key on engine running (KOER). It's been a long time since I've messed with an OBD 1 car. I want to make sure that I chase the right problem. Here's the link to the youtube vid.....and I know its long, but any help would greatly be apprieciated!

I keep watching the video over and over. The 111 code confuses me. Then the second code flashes so fast, I came up with 114. I'm having trouble.

I would clear those codes and drive the car a little to see which are current and which are old.

if the pip signal code is current, you will need a new crank sensor or you will soon be stranded.

Battery is disconnected, going to let it sit while I drop my daughter off at school. I will pull codes again, and post another video of the codes.

Well, took it out again. Ran a little different, but still falls on its face with medium load, and with a light pedal it won't go past 3500rpm. Pulled codes again, getting 111 with KOEO. Have some codes with KOER. Here's the new youtube link to the vid....and yes my son is chattering in the back ground....

Check the plug wells for oil.

Kinda looks like you have a cooling system leak, or at the very least have air in the system. Judging by the behavior of your Temp Gauge.

I had a leaking hose that let in air and gave me a very irritating misfire unless I floored it. Turns out the Coolant Temp Sensor would hit a pocket of air and skew the computer.

521 and 538.

You didn't turn the steering wheel to trigger the PS Pressure Switch, and you didn't goose the throttle during the KOER tests.

I didn't touch the throttle at all. I did forget to move the steering wheel. This is getting to be a little over my head. Thought it was something simple that I could fix. I don't have a fuel pressure guage any more to check fuel pressure. I'm going to take it to a friend's shop, let him figure it out. I can't even get the car started now to re do the KOER test. I'm getting just a tad frustrated at this point....not to mention that my wife knew I had to mess with the car today, and left my 2 yr old son here for me to watch....he's a holy terror.

If I goose the throttle, it stumbles and almost dies. I'm going to let it sit for a bit, and If I can get it started again, I'll do another KOER test. I missed the throttle goosing part.
