Good question. I tried various amounts before settling on 100% for strength reasons but I think I was already printing them on their sides by that point. At the time, my mission was to sell my own prints and I was erring on the side of caution to be sure I wasn't going to be selling a substandard product.

Good timing on this, I tore the top end apart this weekend and the wire clips have all left the chat. One set plus Allen screws ordered, thanks!

Last call for orders on these.

I will be placing the order from my supplier first thing tomorrow morning for all of the sets ordered up to that point, plus a few extras to keep on hand for stragglers.

I will keep you all posted on the order status in this thread. Thanks again to everyone who ordered.

Did you check with Shosource if they wanted any? I don't think they are active on this forum

No, not yet, but I had planned on doing this first run, making sure everyone's happy with the parts, and then contacting Shosource to see if they want to go in on it. I can send them one of my extra sets of each color to evaluate at that time.

I decided that I wanted to have a proven product before I went that direction. Thanks!

Okay, I placed the order with my supplier for these parts this morning. I would normally expect to receive them in about 10 days, but with the latest customs/tariffs changes, that may be extended.

I also put together a quick assembly diagram for these, based on the diagram in the Ford SHO Engine Service Manual, but adjusted to match up with my clip images and locations. I plan to include this diagram in the envelope for each set I send out, but it's here also for your reference:
1739302676203

Also, from looking at this manual (I don't know why I didn't think to consult it before now ), I learned two things:

1. Ford officially calls these parts "CLAMP, WIRE [1,2,3,4,5,6]", so I will be calling them this from now on.
2. There is actually another three-wire clamp that I didn't know about, that doesn't mount to the head or intake, but just clamps onto the three wires coming from the back head after they pass through the three-wire clamp mounted on the intake (labeled as #4 below):
1739302211450
1739302232299

I will be looking in to the feasibility of getting this piece made and included in the sets. If I can get it delivered in time, I plan on including it for no additional charge in the sets I've sold so far, but no promises that that will be feasible.

Thanks again, everyone, for your support on this project. I will keep you all posted here as things progress.

Just a quick note:

My supplier has notified me of unexpected delays in the printing process. In my previous orders (which were much smaller), the parts would already be printed and on their way to me by now, but there apparently were QC issues that caused them to be scrapped and reprinted, so we're waiting on that to be completed now. This will probably push back the delivery time, but I won't know by how much until the reprints are done.

I will give another update when I know more about the timeline. Thanks.

Alright, I have a bunch of updates to announce here:
  1. I have received all of the parts from the manufacturer, and I now have enough inventory on hand to fill all orders, plus a few extras for any latecomers. I will be packing up your orders early this coming week and they should be on their way to you soon thereafter.
  2. I was able to add the "floating" 3-wire clip (or I guess we're calling them "clamps" now) to my manufacturing order, so they will also be included with all orders at no extra charge. See the part marked "CLAMP, WIRE 7" in the diagram below.
  3. Since I’ve added the additional part, I’ve also updated the assembly diagram, and this will be printed out and included in every shipment for your reference when installing, as well as being available here and on the product page.

  4. The black clamps look absolutely perfect, but the "natural grey" ones have some unexpected variability in their color. Some of the pieces are more yellowish, some are more dark-bluish, and some even have slightly different shades on adjacent faces of the same part. I noticed this a bit in my test runs, but with 10x more pieces to look at, the variability seems to be accentuated in the "production" batch. When looking at a set of clamps together in a pile it is quite obvious that they are not identically colored, but installed on the valve covers it will be much less obvious. I spent a little time testing out some light grey dye on a couple sets to see if I could even out the variations without making them too dark and here's my first attempt:
    1740874690597
I will try again tomorrow to see if I can improve the look consistently, and if so, I will be doing this for all of the grey sets before sending them out.
  5. If you have any problems or questions, before or after you receive your order, or if anything is missing from your shipment or breaks at any point, even if it’s 30 years down the road, please let me know (DM me here or email [email protected]) and I will make it right, assuming I’m still alive, haha. I’m not doing this to make money, I’m doing this to give something back to this community that has helped me so much over the last ~20 years, so I am committed to doing the right thing however I can.
As always, thank you for your orders, and I will keep you updated as they start going out next week.

Thanks for the update. I can't remember if I ordered a gray set or not but if I did you don't need to go thru the dye process on mine. They will more than likely get painted later on anyway.

Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder, @Devin — I meant to address that in my last message but completely forgot to include it.

For everyone who ordered the STL files, I will be sending the additional STL file for the new part to the email you used to make the purchase tomorrow. The new clamp will be included in the download for any STL orders placed from this point forward.

A couple quick updates:

All of the shipments for the orders placed at this point have been dropped off at the post office and are on their way to you. You should have received an email with the order status and a tracking link, and you should receive your order in the next 3-7 days, depending on your distance from Eastern Pennsylvania (and potentially any customs delays at the Canadian border).

Please let me know if you have any issues with anything -- including missing items, fitment issues, broken parts, whatever -- and I will do my best to take care of it. I included a sheet with my contact information in the envelopes.

On the "inconsistent grey color" issue, I was able to improve the consistency of the grey clamps slightly with grey dye, but they're really not as nice as I was originally hoping. If you ordered grey clamps, please let me know what you think of them when they arrive.

Thanks again for your orders, and I hope you're pleased with these clamps.
