I hope not! I owned I a dyno and you do not get a accurate dyno from a shift! Don't buy it!
You can't make the Flex hold gears for a 3rd or 4th gear pull unfortunately, I wish I could get it to hold a gear so I could get a clean dyno graph.

The dyno shop (Gulfcoast Motorsports - Naples, FL) that I went to was able to lock my tranny in either 3rd or 4th. I made around 8-10 pulls and only once did it shift.

They were using a Dynojet 424Linx, the same one that Livernois uses.

Doesn't have anything to do with the dyno, has to do with the programming. I've talked to Torrie a few times and we can't seem to get it "locked in". I can get a rolling throttle run to stay in gear but the problem I have is I can't start at say 3K rpm and go full throttle, the car will immediately jump down to 3rd or 2nd gear (depending on what gear I'm in). My old Impala I used to be able to tell it to go into 3rd gear at 15 MPH and hold it to 150MPH to force it to stay in 3rd gear, something about this tranny just won't let you do it like that.

So would you say that the dumps work just as well? Reason I ask is because when I drive the sho I want it loud, when my wife drive she just want a low tone rumble.

Why would my Flex be different as far as locking up for Dyno runs? Mine was Torrie Tuned and only other difference is mine is a 2010. The dyno operator did run mine in sport mode and did manually switch the gears to 3rd or 4th with paddles. Torrie has copies of all my dyno runs.

Same thing done on mine except for if you floor it at 3K rpm the car instantly shifts back down to 3rd or even 2nd gear. It's not a dyno thing it's a tuning thing, send Torrie an email to ask if you like, we've discussed it a few times on chat.

Sooooo.... Haven't really heard much about the PPE downpipes in a while. Has everyone given up on these or are they still shipping out next week?
Last I heard, the dyno testing was kind of a bust and nobody knew for sure what gains, if any, were to be had with the DP installed.
I would hate to drop 800+ bones on an untested "project pipe" that may, or may not increase performance. But I have waited this long already.

They were tested and found to be the same output as a set of stock pipes with a cutout which is .2 and 2 mph faster in the quarter mile as compared to the stock pipes with cutout closed, I can tell you that's easily at least 20HP.
If you have questions about ship date did you email Paul at the email address I provided at the beginning of the thread?
If you have any questions please contact Paul Prentis

I took a look at my car on the lift yesterday, the pipes look awesome, no burn marks or contact patches on the pipes or under belly.

One more thing, my seat o' the pants meter says big difference from stock but sounds stock.

Hmm, Why not save $800 then and just put a butterfly on the stock exhaust. Well might cost like $100 for the part, and welding it in. So save $700.

I talked to Paul about a month ago after putting down a deposit and I was told he would start shipping the week of March 11th.

Here let me crawl under my car Undo a few bolts and race again! Kinda doesnt work in the real world. If you just want power at the track its fine.

If you do it with a boost controller to open it would annoy me every time i touch the gas my car become rather loud.

My point is sometimes the higher cost is worth it for a simpler life.

The cutout I used is a boost activated cutout from S&P performance, it's $399 + installation of about $300 so a savings of $100 and it's LOUD.
Video of the cutout here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48WlWGK2o9E

I do plan on putting my cutout back on the new pipes, with the restrictive stock mid-pipe and rear mufflers I am hoping to pick up another 20HP compared to the new downpipes with stock exhaust. This is in preparation for my bigger turbos. I plan on dropping my car off for another few weeks to have the upgraded in tank fuel pumps, auxillary fuel injectors in the intake manifold and fuel injector controller installed BUT I'm hoping to set it up so that we can duplicate the intake manifold for others along with the ITFP upgrade. This leads the way for bigger turbos and E85 on this platform. Should be able to break 500WHP with that combo, no meth injection required just awesome corn juice... :)
So you don't ask, stock fuel system is maxed out already with stock turbos and E35 in the car, stock fuel wouldn't be able to run E85 with a 91 octane tune, would be completely out of steam by 4K RPM or so.

Ummmm Yea, I email Paul lastweek and got a email back on Firday, NOW he says that they are going to hold out for more buyers and wait until the week of the 18th TO ORDER THE PARTS, then they have to fabricate them, and THEN ship them out.. So, the 11th has come and gone, I dont see anyone getting any pipes till ATLEAST the first of April!!!!!

Great.
And still no actual dyno results.
Frustrating....
