Im thinking about getting a chrome spear replacement for my car. Just wondering what the steps are in removing the bumper or just the front grill itself. I noticed that theres about 8 screws under the hood then 1 on each side by the corners. Is that all there is or is it to take it off? Or is there more to it? :thankyou:

The bumper comes off fairly easily. Behind it the spear is held in place by a few screws.

To remove the bumper.

1. There are three 10 mm bolts that hold the plastic splash shield to the radiator bottom do not remove the shield from the bumper.

2. Take the bottom screw off of each front fender liner. Behind them there is a 11 mm nut on a stud.

3. Take off the 15mm bolts on the top, 3-5 depending on what year you have.

4. Take out the headlights and side marker lights. When removing the headlights lift up on the bottom slightly so as not to scratch the bumper.

5. There is an 8 mm screw holding the bumper to the front fender on both sides behind the headlight. May be a few more 8 mm screws.

6. The bumper cover has two studs that stick down into the front enders. So lift and pull back slightly. Also on the studs that you took the 11 mm nut off of pull out and be careful to not scratch the fender.

7. Once you have the cover lifted up, then disconnect the turn signal wiring.

Then the whole thing should pull off.

(There is a step-by-step on v8sho.com as well - Which may be where Paul pulled it from)

You don't need fear that I would pull anything from that site that is a jumble of disinformation as well as good.

The above I pulled out of my memory.
