getting warm

my 94 atx is runing warm put new thermostat in still the same any ideas

runs up on the higher side of the gauge. it just started a few days ago. droped a gauge in the radiator it reads 230 deg. thinking nabey the water pump?

Possible, but not very likely. These pumps have a metal impeller that rarely (I've not heard of one) fails.

Far more likely is a clogged radiator, restricted hose, or a malfunction in the fans.

All of this assumes, of course, that you actually have a fault in your cooling system.

i pulled the hoses off put a garden hose in the rad. flows nicely both fans run going to pull water pump . to see what it looks like . got to do a timing belt anyway i will let u know how i made out.

got it solved it was the water pump. it had a little play in the brg. also changed the timing belt. since i was 3/4 of the way there. runs great know. and no i didn't put the thermostat in backwards :)
