Gauge Cluster Lights.

I remember a thread awhile back that a member change out his lights in his gauges to LED's from www.superbrightleds.com
i cant rememeber what size led it was though... allthough 194 sounds familiar... but i think thats for interior bulbs...
i was going to go with white for the majority w/a couple of UV LED's and paint the needles orange..

I looked for it, but couldnt find it... maybe i was searching for the wrong term....

194 is for the bulb. LED's I can't remember. I do remember on one of the Ranger forums I was on someone converted over alot of their dash stuff to LED's.

I use the WLED-5 Wide Angle LED bulb which is the replacement for the 194 bulb in blue. There is a WLED-B Blue LED wide bulb with an Inverted Cone Tip but it is not as bright.

being an LED, when you adjust the dimmer switch, does it dim, or simply turn off?

They dim.

BTW I feel this is one of the best aesthetic mods you can do. Also with a ATX floor shifter lights are the first to replace.

Okay, I think I am going to do this. I have a 93 MTX, so how many WLEDs in total do I need? I guess I will be doing it all at once so what all is there? I know the speedo cluster and the climate control unit. Is there anything else? How many am I going to need total? Thanks a lot.

not sure about gens previous to the g3, i know 5 are necessary in the g3... and i THINK there are 6 in the g2... i checked the previously linked topic ( http://www.taurusclub.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=57 )

how do you change the colour of your EATC and other miscelaneous buttons?

for gens earlier than g3's, i believe there are bulbs (NOT POSITIVE about this), however on the g3 it's lit by an electroluminescent sheet, and thus cannot be changed unless you put a blue sheet instead ofa green one in there. ive been wanting to get at this for a long time, just havent had $90+ to throw into the project. i had my radio in pieces a couple months ago to put in blue EL wire, but the wire was to thick and several buttons didnt work properly. you could also modify it with LEDs, but that would be a lot of LEDs in a very small space and to anyone who tries that in a g3, good freakin luck...

do these bulbs just plug on the stock location? I looked but really didnt see. They just plug into the gauge cluster like regular 194 bulbs do?

Also can you get these bulbs in other types like 2825 (W5W)??
