I have an 89 sho (since 1990) with 142,000 easy driven miles on it. The car is in good shape and runs well.
There is no oil on my garage floor, no oil smell when I pull into the garage after a drive, no smoke when I'm driving, pretty much keep to the low RPMs, and the mechanic sees nothing. And again, the car runs well and has been pretty well maintained. But the car is using a quart about every 400 miles. I'm thinking it should be more like 1 every 900 miles or so. Would anyone care to speculate about what can cause this kind of oil use. I'm thinking I should be seeing or smelling something. But I'm not.
