Hi All,

I have a 14 sho with 140000(Had car about 5000 miles so far) that's burning a lot of oil, but no smoke or leaks! I am averaging 1 quart every 5-600 miles! Car runs great and has no check engine lights or codes. I took the intake tube off and inspected and it wasn't to oily, and intake looked clean. Where should I begin with this? I also removed a spark plug and it wasn't oily either. I pulled the front turbo tube and that was also fairly clean. Any thoughts?

At 140000 miles the obvious answer would be turbo oil seals. If on the exhaust side you should see oil smoke at least part of the time. It could be leaking slow enough that the catalytic converters are burning it with no smoke. If true, that will eventually **** the cats. On the intake side the oil will leak into the intake tubing and intercooler. 1 quart in 5-600 miles is a lot of oil.

Thank You, I was thinking something similar. The thing that got me was lack of smoke. I am going to dive a little deeper over the next week.

Look in your exhaust and see if its more than fuel residue

Definetly oily at exhaust tips. One more than the other, but still no smoke! Weird. Turbos fins are tight and not busted up. Looks like I'll be diving deep into the turbos. Thanks for the input! Now I guess the fun begins! Should the intercooler be disassembled and cleaned out?

Most likely turbo seal. If you can upgrade your intercooler, you'll be better off. I have the Gearhead one, my partner got one from livenois. The gearhead is a direct swap the livenois requires a little finessing. Do the turbo's have any sign of external oil weepage?

Hi,
No just a small leak on oil return line on rear turbo. Definitely not the quart of oil missing every 500! This car ia surprisingly leak free! Thanks for the intercooler recommendation!
