Hey Chris,
Any time you want to come on over. I'm right off Holcomb Bridge and 400.
Give me a call sometime. 4/414-6264.

I'm getting tired of telling you your cable is bad. Did you check the voltage at the battery post (not cable) and the solenoid where you are getting 3V at the same time?

Well if you have 12V on one side of the solenoid and 3v on the other at the same time the relay contacts are bad or the connection between the battery side cable and the relay is bad. Measure the voltage at the post not the connector.

I would first measure the voltage at the battery side of the relay on the connector and then measure on the battery side of the relay post they should be the same of course.

If they are then measure at the starter side of the relay on the post . The voltage should be the same.

No..I have not checked the voltage at the battery and the solenoid at the same time.
I'll have to do that.

I'd really like to move the battery back up to the fender (at least for testing) and out of the trunk. The negative cable that attaches to the battery...that bolts to the trans? If I can move the battery back up to the front and run new cables to where they are supposed to go I can test your bad cable theory easier. Right now if I want to replace the "bad" positive cable I have to run a new one back out to the trunk.
I hope your are right...I'd be very happy!

Thanks,
Mike
