Shortly after purchasing my 95 SHO the EATC quit working. After replacing the 15 A fuse the heater worked ok but went completely dead after reaching about 1200 RPM's. Both the EATC and the subwoofer cut out at about that RPM regardless of the gear the car is in and then return once the car is back at idle. If anyone has any opinions they would be greatly appreciated. The only other problem I am having is both of the front windows work fine but the back windows are inoperable. Are they all on the same circuit?

Any other ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. It is still cold in MI and I am finding myself anticipating the next red light so that I can have some heat, if only for a few moments.

I had a similar problem on one of my past cars, and it turned out to be a faulty voltage regulator. It seemed that when I would hit a certain RPM the voltage would jump and cause my amp to cut out. I'd check your voltage to see if something similar is happening. At least it's easy to check and won't cost anything.

Thanks, that is exactly what happened. My car is going in the shop tomorrow for a new alternator and battery. Hopefully after that everything will be OK

Did I get ripped off

The total invoice at my repair location was $390 after he replaced the alternator and battery. His invoice was broken down as such. Just wondering if this seems to be a fair price and if I should ever visit this guys repair facility again?

Remanufactured alternator assembly = 140.32
Battery = 67.28
Battery terminal end = 2.76
Charging and starting system diagnosis = 37.20
Labor to replace alternator = 93.00
Labor to switch battery wires from top to side = 31.00

Total with tax and everything = 389.48

It's not the worst I've seen, but he coulda used some KY, know what I mean? :squint:

Shop around for mechanics; an alternator job takes me less than an hour on my 92, with battery removal and replacement being part of the process. Here in the Bronx/ Yonkers, NY Area, I would've expected to pay no more than $325 for that job.
