hey guys, in my way home on my luch break i was driving my green plus and all of the sudden i got a TON of play in the shifter. ever since i have gotten it, it has shifted kinda hard and wierd but nuthin like today. i can only get it into 1st and 3rd gears. when it is in 1st the shifter appears to be in the nuetral position ad when its in gear, i have all kinds of play in the shifter almost like i have the clutch in. to try to get to 2nd i have to pull the shifter sooo far down that i hit the center console. anyone know what to make of this?? ill drive my red SHO till friday when i have the time to crawl under and look at this mess. i have a spare rod shifter waiting to go on my white plus but i really dont wanna use that. what is wrong here??

thanx

yep they surely do. I broke mine in the 92 last year. Where the shifter handle fits into one of the rods ( a ball socket type of joint) mine broke about a inch in up the rod.

With no Prior notice, just went freaking limp.

I also living in New England have see both rods Rot and break. Mostly the stabilzr rod though..

Good luck with it

If you need a new bolt, I have extras... I PMed you the details.

But just in case the screw is Grade 8 hardened steel hex key, 150mm long. If I remember right, it's 12mm x 1.75mm thread pitch.

these are extras and can be sent out for just the price to ship them. =)
