Got around to playing around and wiring up the probe eq to the taurus and figured a good write up is in order. This is for cars with the gen II stereos.

This is how to wire it in if your car has both stereo cassette and slave cd player.

If your car has only a cassette stereo you can just get a slave cd player wiring harness, slave cd player power harness and slave cd player ground harness. Simply snip the white wire in the slave cd player harness and plug in normally in all other ways.

if you have the single cd player just get a slave cd player wiring harness, slave cd player power harness and slave cd player ground harness. plug in good to go.

for the cassette and cd combo splicing is required.
what you will need.

cassette stereo
cd player
probe eq
2 slave cd player power harnesses
2 slave cd player harnesses
2 slave cd player ground harness

To start cut both cd player harness's in half, remove a few inches of the gray plastic cover, you'll find the 6 wires and ground? twisted inside. strip off a half inch of coating off each of the wires.

Splice wires together my attached diagram has colors attached and from where to where the wire needs to go.

splice the green with orange trace together amongst all three, as well as splicing all three uncoated wires together. make sure to use some good crimp connectors for all the wires. I then electrical taped all the stuff together to look nice and clean.

splice together the ground harnesses, so you have three connectors.

daisy chain the power harness's into each other at the back of the stereo.

plug everything together and enjoy! a write up on the mounting will be next.

some fyi tips. on the cassette stereo the bass/treble controls should be set to zero (the middle bar), as it wasn't intended to have the slave cd player, so it doesn't disregard it's internal controls as the slave cd player would when you use the eq. if you have the bass and treble turned up and then boost them on the eq it starts to distort. if your using a single disc stereo this doesn't apply as the stereo knows the eq is there.

here are pics of what you need.
