whats so dumb about marketing a clutch for street racers? we have a lot of people here who don't race at the track, and they still drive their cars everyday, so they need something that takes a beating and can drive on the street.....

you would be suprised as to what people street race around here

theres quite a few folks racing 150mph+ trap speed cars....... make the fastest SHO's in existance look like a kid's toy

I am more then sure my PP is fine, As Josh has not had a single reported failure for on of his HD PP's. The pedal engagement is also still VERY smooth and the only clattering that I hear is that that is typical of a 9-Puck disc. While the 9 Puck disc gripped EXTREMLY hard, They just were not meant to last very long.

I'm going to go with one of clutchnet's "Yellow" Clutch disc's.

I'm going to re-use my old PP and just scuff it to remove anything that the Fibertuff disc left behind. I will also probably just use a Stock throw out bearing as well.

We'll see, I'll probably send my old SHOnut ceramic TOB in to get repacked/Greased and have it on hand. However, The car's downtime is going to be less then a day and as good as Josh's services are, I don't think they are quite that fast. ;)

yeah I would just re use the old HD pressure plate, save u some money

one thing you need to factor in, it costs an extra 150 every time u change the clutch if u want to change the insert...... if you go with an aluminum flywheel........

gotta pay to play tho

I loved how quick my SHO spooled up (with the aluminum flywheel), especially coming out of the toe at Watkins Glen. The SHO needed every bit of help it could get to climb the hill. It's a helpless feeling when you get a point by but cannot gain any ground until the track flattens out.

Doesn't it suck to work hard to run 'em down through the corners, only to have it taken away right after? Racetrack socialism.

The SHO has such a heavy pressure plate, I would recommend an alum flywheel for any performance driving. At least a billet steel piece.

I came to the conclusion many years ago that all SHO clutch's sucked. Some just sucked a little less than others. The best, most bullet proof clutch I ever had was a HD strap/rivet 9.75" pressure plate with the fulcrum points changed, clamping on a 9.25" 8 puck velvatouch disc. Awesome holding power. terrible street manors

Just an Update, I have decided to a LUK stock clutch replacement.

Considering my car's weight, I think a stock replacement will hold fine. I did not want to go with a CM1 due to recent horror stories. I almost laid down some money for a DXD Stage II but then just came to the conclusion that a the stock clutch will hold perfectly fine for what I am using the car for. The 700 pounds weight reduction only strengthens that argument. Besides, My car does not make all that much power anyways.

Worst case scenario is that the Clutch blows up at 1,036 Miles after install and I have learned my lesson. :)
