Cell phone antenna

Was thinking about installing a cell phone antenna on the old super taurus... anyone have experiences with these antennas? Would perfer to use a "passive" type, the kind where you stick it on the glass, the inside you would stick a little box"repeter" with small antennas. Cost about $10. Good or bad Chime in.
On the high end is the "Wilson" brand.. all sorts of fancy electronic gizmos costing upwards of $400+....uuuhhhh way to much.

Why do you need a cell phone antenna? Trying to get the car phone that came with the car to work again?

just wanted to keep in touch

I sometimes take long trips through the wilderness... well eastern Nevada/ oregon etc... hundreds of miles with no cell phone coverage can be a little scarey..
