ok i have to put in about 1 qt of oil every 1k miles. i don't have any blue smoke coming out of my exhaust at all that i can see. and i don't smell any oil burnign which doesn't mean it isn't burning. will a 60k correct these problems or is it another underlying cause? help me correct this damn problem.

You didn't mention checking under the car for leaks from the oil pan seal, oil sensor, oil filter, drain plug, et cetera - is it dry under there?

I use about the same....front main crank seal. It doesn't leave spots anywhere but I can see oil under it on the pan.

Park the car somewhere dry with a large piece of clean cardboard underneath. The next day, check for leaks on the cardboard.

yo man. i had the same problem as you. i had to put in a quart every 1000 miles but this was due to the front main seal. it leaked onto the cat below it and it would cause smoke. i put in a new seal and i've driven on it for 300 miles and no leak so far.....hopefully. And i hope i shouldn't have to put in a quart every 1000 miles. later.
