Look into Lumar brand film for the new clearmask. That is what we use and its gets the highest online ratings. At my current store we guarantee 10 years against discoloration, peeling, etc. so it is currently better than the 3M film in our experience.

Ok, so I found out why the recent silence from the machine shop. I awoke this morning to more engine **** pics.

The pics were a (very pleasant) surprise, and I did not realize the shop owner had been doing this.

Extreme valve modifications. Now I have the tech info on the various degrees and what not for all of the following:

Valves, seat cuts, back cuts, contact patches, and full radius info on exhaust seats, but I am withholding that info as I am trying to be respectful to the machine shop owner.

But pics posted below, say it all. Very obvious to even the untrained eye.

He also sent some pics over on the continued modification of the heads, individual bowls, and how they are continuing to show repeated increased flow/improvement with each/every subsequent revision.

We also chatted up about the factory exhaust manifolds. I'm consolidating the convo severely, to simply report that this same shop will be fabricating completely one off, custom manifolds. Which when done, will also be ceramic coated with the JET-HOT 2500 degree thermal coating.

HUGE DEVELOPMENT on this last part, and as far as I know, will be a platform 1st for the GEN4/GEN5 SHO.

To see the level of excitement and enthusiasm on the shop owner's face, is truly something to witness. Downright infectious and it is beginning to make me even that much more excited as things seem to finally be coming along, after me having crapped out a lot of money the past several months.

More info and pics forthcoming as they are provided to me. Everyone enjoy your weekend!Fa659b74e37872158ad934937e658ba6Ded39d927ab24907dedf45769ec21956F6d5c7ba2dea501046000638dfefcfa4E0baa19f6ced82a09df8dbdcd8e5e2b9367ee472067af4e18c562a0b33944f83

Thank God! My heart sunk when you were talking that nonsense about the factory manifolds.

I agree. Which is why I was having my own internal debate.

I couldn't bring myself to bolt on the factory, semi rusty, extremely restrictive manifolds, knowing full well that there was/is so much work being performed on the opposing end with the heads, the valves, the intake, the TB, etc.

Just made very lil sense to me.

From BOTH a visual perspective, as well as a performance one.

So yes, these will be a true one off, completely custom set of manifolds, that will be completely complimentary to all the other custom, one off work being performed.

I'm excited. Blessed, thankful, humble, and just inspirationally in awe of the level of talent of the machine shop owner doing all of this.

Appreciate the comments. They keep me fueled and focused as the project begins to take shape. Thank you!

I was just thinking and if it's not too late you may want to put a pause on those DP's until the manifolds are made. Unless your shop has already indicated otherwise, I'd imagine there will need to be some repositioning of the turbo's to accommodate high flow tube headers. At the very least, I'd wait until everything bolts up before having the DP's coated so they can still be welded.

Hit me up if you end up being unable to use the PPE's, I'd gladly buy them (as long as they're not white! Lol)

I knew ahead of time, that the machine shop owner was planning on making two separate jigs (1 for each side) and fab'n them up from there.

However, I did just double check with him, and replied immediately explaining fitment will *NOT* be an issue. As they will bolt on direct ala OEM style.

Just the benefit of all the removed obstructions and poor flow design as is present with the OEM's.

But good call and I appreciate the looking out. Thank you good sir!

11/20/19......

More pics from the machine shop arrived a lil bit ago.

Depicting the MASSIVE differences between a stock, untouched exhaust port, versus a custom, heavily modified one.

My God, even to my untrained amateur eyes, the differences are vast. Machine shop owner stated he's incredibly impressed with the new flow #'s.

Also, PPE has completed my DP's and have shipped them to JET-HOT. JET-HOT confirmed receipt and indicated they are already in processing, and have a tentative completion/ship out date of December 12th, 2019. I asked for "in progress" as well a few completion pics, and Ashley @ PPE stated that wouldn't be a problem.

Also, confirmed with machine shop owner that the new, custom, one off exhaust manifolds will *NOT* conflict with fitment as it relates to bolting up the new DP's to same. Adding that he is making custom jigs (one for each side) and developing tubular type manifolds that will completely eliminate all the hang up and poor flow of the OEM's.

So a few more updates. Little by little fellas.A52cbf7777be175974228190b661c5918edd304373322933d27340ab46f42d80F3799308304aa9495b4a82b6dd177922

Hand machined? I like it. Everyone is CNC nowadays, it's a lost art.
Yes! All being performed by hand.

Painstakingly so.

Hit it. Bench it for flow, then revise further as/if needed.

I agree. Dying art for sure.

Super, super talented and I'm blessed for the work being performed.

Is the shop using anything to assure there are no thin walls? These are sand cored castings and a slightly out of position water jacket core, combined with porosity, could cause a leak.
