Reserving this space for any/all updates pertaining to the rebuild of my 2010 SHO following the catastrophic failure while my SHO was at Livernois Motorsports.

I've chosen to utilize an entirely different vendor for the rebuild. Max Power Automotive located in Lockport, IL.

Although I don't do FB, here is a link for those guys that do:

https://m.facebook.com/Maxpowerautomotive/

Moving along, the motor has been completely torn down, and the results of which are located in a thread I started titled "A sad, sad day in the history of my SHO".

We are aiming for between 1,000 and 1,100 horsepower with this build.

The block has currently been shipped off for closed decking.

All new internal parts will be utilized and we will be having all of those internals treated with a "WPC Treatment". More info on that, can be had here:

http://www.wpctreatment.com/#

Click on the "About WPC" tab on their homepage.

Additionally, I will be purchasing a new PTU, and having that disassembled and sent off for the same treatment process described above.

I plan on ordering a PI alternator as well, in order to handle the electrical stress from audio system sufficiently.

Currently in the process of researching trans upgrades as well, even if it need be custom.

More info to follow as it occurs.

I've been busy working a butt load of overtime (which is something I previously chose never to do) but given the costs that lie ahead, well worth the effort IMHO.

Anyhow, I hope everyone's well and enjoying their Summer respectively. Kind of bummed about this entire show/track season likely being a wash. But, I have goals to achieve in my crosshairs, and my motivation to come back even better than before, have me grounded and focused!

As always, stay tuned.......

Whoa! Excellent! I can not WAIT to see how things turns out!

I'm very curious as to the price range of the wpc treatment for the PTU parts. I'm not looking for what you're paying.....just a range...to see if it's something I should investigate or put off a while. :)

Well this definitely should be interesting as I've never heard of WPC treatment. Seeing you enthusiastic about your SHO again is a good sign for us all. Especially because you introduce us to new techniques for power. I'll be following too.

Dimpling has been used to effectively enhance intake airflow patterns and throttle body performance. It is a valid approach.

This is a massive, massive undertaking that actually deserves its' own website and video channel. There are already historical elements that can be garnered as background content and there will be quite a "SHOGAZM" of content yet to come.

Best of luck, and stay out of trouble :D

Oh, almost forgot.....

The plans are to also USE the DW Injectors as well.

Just because one company can't tune with them, doesn't necessarily mean others cannot.

DW claims a max flow rate of 30% greater than the OEM Injectors.

Again, AT MAX.

So certainly not like these caused any fuel wash of the cylinders as originally believed. Never any evidence of that as it was learned.

So, sending them off to the same company that re-worked my OEM's in Ohio, to have the DW's looked over, new o-rings, balanced and flow tested. Make sure they're all good to go once again.

Nice to see the excitement and enthusiasm. Appreciate all the continued interest!

Have you looked into any good old fashioned shift kits for the trans? Maybe transgo or ETE Reman. I’ve done limited research but did see they had a 6F55 kit but I think I remember only for limited years.

Won't help...

Stock power kills these trans. There really isnt a suitable upgrade for eff you power.

I will say that bpd's OCD maintenance with Mercon LV Motorcraft (!) proved pretty useful here, as the trans in his SHO had not one hiccup the whole time even with the DD file of 525 (?) whp. But going for 1 large or more? Yeah, I think RWD conversion will be a WHOLE lot cheaper. Keeping it FWD based - seems to require some derring-do :D Perhaps some lessons can be drawn from the Focus RS for this mega build.

That is a lot of HP. It will be interesting to see how the tranny handles that kind of power.

In my opinion, what makes the gen 4 SHO what it is, is its ability to accelerate how it does, anywhere and without loosing traction. Going to a RWD would just be like putting the Taurus body on a Demon.

When there is a will there is a way...consider the Trailhawk drive train...although not a transverse drive train it proves one can put a 'yitload" of horsepower and torque to the ground in a AWD application.

If anyone can figure out how to do it in our preferred platform I believe bpd1151 is our man.
