blower

Hi, my climate control only works on high fan. The eatc head unit sees when i hit auto and sees that i turn the wheel to manual but it dosnt do anything i have to manualy turn the wheel all the way to high and then it will work but onyl work on high fan. iam pretty sure the eatc is good becuase i replaced it but i cant figure out why it will only work in maunal high fan. Any help would be great.

Are you sure something did not come unplugged when installing it? And when you say you replaced it did your old one do the same thing? I guess check the connections and go from there, my Z did that and a line in back was the problem. Try this thread maybe helpful....

Thanks, I inspected the unit and everthing is hooked up right i did a lil probing and i found that in the a/c blower control theres a ciricit for the blower speeds and a relay just for the high fan.

You got it. Your Blower Motor Speed Control unit (BMSC, or just BCM) is bad. Good news is, they're pretty easy to replace. It's just two weird little washer/nut thingies under the glove box and two 8mm bolts to get it out.

iam greatful for all the help but now can anyone tell me where i can get one hahaha i have been looking everywhere and no one seems to know what iam talking about or where to get one.

^^ this is what you need. It's the only I could find on ebay but they pop up pretty frequently.

OBTW, you only need to replace the part with wires coming out of it. You don't need to replace all that hosing and that thing on the right. It's just an air plenum.

yikes, necroposting FTL, but you need a blower control module. There don't seem to be any on Ebay right now, which might be why you can't find any. Just keep looking... I usually search "Taurus Blower" and sift out the blower wheels and motors. And yes, I'm ignoring the many obvious 4th grade jokes in there.

I'm a little unclear, did you have this problem before and still after the EATC replacement or just after? If just after I would suspect it's an improper EATC from another Ford model.

Would a new blower motor provide a stronger fan??? Being original to the car, I'm wondering if the replacement part is of 'higher performance'? ...would be nice to have something to pump out more air!

Rubix, not sure who your question was aimed at...but I've had my hard button EATC in place for over 4 years now, so I'm ruling out the 'improper EATC' in my case.
