As stupid as Vadim did some things... He had some thought into it. In the case of Pat's car, he's pretty much found out what the maximum timing he should run on a particualr setup and then added 10 degrees. Since the computer can kick back up to 10 degrees, his thought was that this might save the motor.

On single passes, this may be fine, however, when you keep stressing it, all of the above play a roll in self-destruction.

I'm not surprised the PD blew up... I remember getting into it with a forum member on here who thought that they were great blower, even if you upgrade for higher boost... Simply put... You get what you pay for.

I can rebuild it for $100, im not worried its a cheap start off set up, it blows it blows Sho's are cheap in the long run and as long i can get a little more power out of it tuned right, thats all i really care about.

That's smart? Add 10 degrees over whats normally considered acceptable and let the PCM take care of the rest? You realize that in order for the PCM to retard timing it needs to sense knock? Any knock on a high compression, high boost, non-intercooled car is asking for trouble. Nothing about this kit was thought out, sorry.

I think Jason meant that the idea was a decent one, but the execution doesn't work. Maybe it would in a perfect world.
