Hey guys,
I've been slacking on this project for awhile while all my money has been dumping into the truck.

I have spark when I put the plug up to the block, and I have starter. I get absolutely nothing spraying WD40 into the intake. I haven't checked if the injectors are popping, but I thought I should get *something* with spark and fluid in the intake.

Will this motor not work this way, or do I have something else going on?

Thanks!

Sounds frustrating. If you are getting spark I would think you should get something while spraying in the intake. I would start with the basics....check fuel at the rails, double check for spark and pull the codes to see what they say. A little history might help. Has the car ever run? Have you done any work on it reciently? Any info would be helpful. Good luck

WD-40 won't start your engine.
Check the basic's first:
1. Fuel pressure at the rails
2. Ground strap connected on the rear of the intake
3. All wire connections.

yeah, if you're going to go that route, I would recommend spraying starter fluid into one of the vacuum ports on the throttle body downstream of the (throttle) butterfly, not WD40. It isn't very flammable, and isn't there silicon in that stuff? If there is, say goodbye to your O2s.

Ok I will try starting fluid. I probably don't have fuel from the injectors, the car has never run before, I'm just trying to get one thing at a time, and I thought I should be able to make it sputter with starting fluid. Right?

Don't use starting fluid, that's just asking for trouble. Figure out why it is not firing don't force it. Make sure you have fuel, if you don't have the injectors firing, and have fuel pressure at the rails just replace them and then it should start. If you have fuel and spark, then you should have kaboom unless you don't have the engien timed correctly. Did you replace the timing belt? If so, did you put the timing belt on backwards, did you line all the marks up and tension the belt correctly?
