So if you pull down your street slowly and let it shift at 2500 it always bangs into gear, or only sometimes when you rapidly press the pedal then let off? Mine bangs into gear if I floor it, then let off before it shifts into second. 30k on the tranny fluid is close to the fluid change time.

if i let off the throttle right before it shifts it won't bang into 2nd. it only does it when i accelerate slow into 2nd 2500 rpms or under

pull your codes. and if you want to try replacing the sensors(VSS and another TSS?) first before the whole tranny

ok, i've heard a vss (variable speed sensor) and a TSS (transmission shift solenoid) and a lockout sensor, but not a transmission speed sensor. I'm having shift problem but yet all gears in tranny seem fine. When I punch the accelerator, the car refuses to kick down a gear for "passing gear". Any suggestions? Is there a sensor that I don't know about?

Sensors in the ATX:

TSS - Turbine Shaft Sensor. Measures rotational speed of input turbine shaft
VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor
TOT - Tansmision Oil Temp

Sensor ON the ATX:

MLPS - Manual Lever Position Switch. Tells computer the position of the shift lever. Also has backup lamp and Neutral/Parl starter switch integrated

Solenoids:

EPC - Electronic Pressure Control
TCC - Torque Converter Clutch
SS1,2,3 (A,B,C) - Shift solenoids-

These are the official Ford designations.

ted: Go run your codes, ...
