I just installed my Autometer Carbon Fiber Oil Pressure, Water Temp and Volt Gauges. All the wiring is correct except for the illumination. The way I have it hooked up is through the radio for illumination and 12 Volt Ignition switched. But the wierd thing is that it is working backwards. Example--When I hook up the illumination the way I have it now, the gauges light up with the headlights off;when I turn them on, the lights in the gauges turn off.

Does anyone know what could be wrong or where to hook them up so they work correctly?

P.S. It is nice to finally have real gauges instead of the idiot lights, mmm..carbon fiber

Thanks,
Ryan

Hook them up to the output from the dimmer switch to your dash lights. Works great for me.

on the lights you hook one side up to either the running lights (no dimmer )

or the dash lights which are dimmer controlled ,

as you can see one side of the lamp goes to the ground of the car, I ran all my grounds to the same point, under hood the ground that is on the pass. side strut tower.
i hooked the positive side to the dash light will try to find the wire color tomorrow

you want the Light Blue/red wire running off of the back of your radio or off the back of your dimmer siwtch, either or, that will supply you with the same power source that your dash uses for dimming the dash lights

Sorry Guys

Hey guys, I had already figured it out last week. I just forgot that I had made this post. Thanks for all the help.

DDakRT, those are the gauges that I have. But I made a panel for them where the EATC normally sits. How is the brightness of the A-Pillar? Mine are a little dim at night where they sit right now.
