Ok so as I said in the "cold Start Issue" Thread it has problems with cold starts. As in right when it starts ti will rev to 2 and then die. And it will do this at least 3 times before clearing up. It will be getting a new idle air valve on monday and hopefully that soves that problem and now this one as well....When I accelerate, as soon as it gets just a bit above 2 it stays there. Even when I let off the gas. Makes stopping a bit tough sometimes. Even when I do get it stopped its still revving at a bit above 2. Now when it does this I found that if I shift into neutral then back to drive it frees up and runs normal. Anyone think this is caused by the idle air valve? I hope so but if not I could use the ideas. 93 ATX

I hope this helps but I have a 98 Explorer that had the excact same symtoms and after I changed the IAC it went away. By the way stay away from Auto Zone IACs the first two didn't work right, I have had the third one in there for about 6 months now though.

Yes that does help. And its good news. I buy nothing from Autozone because I have also had problems with their parts. As with this new IAC most everything comes from O'reilly. Thank you for the quick reply.
