M I have Been reading as much on subject as I could find. Here is what I have experienced. Car started to randomly have issues shifting into gear then would start shifting. Well read about pedal adjustment so pulled on it but nothing changed. Then went under dash and held adjustment gear and pulled pedal. It clicked like four times. Car started shifting again. I was very happy to say the least. Came out next morning and back to no shifting again. Clutch will not fully disengage. This time had someone push on pedal while I held arm under hood. Then driver reached down and gently pulled pedal and click click click. Now it shifts albeit at a very high release point. Alls good right. Went for a long drive and once again it stopped shifting. Repeated the under hood thing and shifts once more. Then some time later it stopped again. Is this a cable problem or maybe adjuster? or am I looking at a clutch issue? No slipping at 45mph in fifth gear floored. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ps clutch engadge is high up from floor and first is slipping. The other gears seem to be running strong.
Pas figured out that if you pull on pedal after tension is put back on it it clicks and arm under hood releases all the way forward putting back to square one. :(

possibly you have several issues.

your clutch slipping in 1st gear and very high engagement point suggests the clutch disk is worn very thin and needs replaced.

your repeated need to readjust the cable to get the clutch to release suggests you have an issue with the adjuster quadrant under the dash.

I would start by replacing the clutch. that may solve all of your symptoms.

Try this. Start the engine with the transmission in gear and then go to neutral. As you release the pedal if you hear and feel a slight clunk or vibration, the disc is defective.
