3M sells a blue masking tape with an attached plastic drop cloth. I need to respray my trim; I was planning on using the drop cloth to cover the doors and roof. Hopefully this week if I have time!

Where do you buy this type of tape at. Because I was just going to to use newpaper for taping off the area around the mirror.

Alternatively, if you cringe at taking a rattle can to your car, pick up some "Back to Black" from Mothers. Works awsome on any black surface and lasts a reasonable amount of time too.

Duplicolor gloss black + SEM clear makes shiny mirrors and door frames.

I did use a little bit of light sand paper to remove some remaining bugs.

I found the SEM coat in a local paint/parts store (Napa kinda store)

I did this as well almost 2 years ago, since then, only a small amount of chips came up, and I didnt put that many coats. It looks nice on your car Phoenix, only thing left is to paint your door handles the same color :angelnot: . BTW I want to repaint the black trim around the keypad, how do I remove this?

Phoenix, I seriously love your car...:hail: That looks great.

But you still gotta get the "SHO" on the sides and bumper painted black:thumb:

You can remove the buttons from the door by first removing the door panel, peeling back the plastic on the door, and then removing the clip to the buttons from the backside of the door. Make sure your window is up and find the right size pliers or channel locks so you get a good grip on the clip and IIRC pull it out to the right. The clip is metal so don't worry about it breaking BUT WEAR SOME GLOVES! Your hands will suffer if you don't wear gloves when removing the clip! I don't remember what it takes to seperate the buttons from the black trim piece though. Good luck and take some before and after pictures to show everyone!

Just wondering... Is this Dupicolor DA 1600 Gloss Black? I really want to do this, do you think it'll look good on a Silver Frost SHO? I'll definitely tint if i do this.

Looks awesome btw!

Just the gloss black wont be that glossy , Use duplicolor clear to make it nicer.

It actually depends on how glossy you want it.

The "Back to black" is the best I've found but at Carlisle someone said Stoner (I think) made a dye to do the back glass plastic that looks like carp. Gotta have a few beers and try to remember.
