1/4 mile times...a little disappointed.

Hey guys, went to Lapeer dragway last Saturday with the SHO. Probably not my best track day as it turns out I was coming down with a cold, just hadn't realised it yet.

But I am a little disappointed in my numbers, now a portion of that is probably that I invited my buddy with his 2017 M3 out and he and his 11.5 1/4 mile can kiss my A** lol.

Temp was about 80 degrees so hardly ideal and about 1/2 tank of gas.

Car has the intake/exhaust 3bar thermostat tune etc. Package from livernois and is running the v11 93 octane tune from livernois. On this I added their catted downpipes.

I could not reach 12's to save my life.
Best run was a 13.05 at 105. Traction control off, in sport mode, boostlaunching at about 2000 rpm.

Am I missing something here? Everything I have read is that with the tune alone you should be hitting flat 13's to high 12's and with the parts be solid in the 12's

Am I doing something wrong?

Teaction issues maybe? Post your timeslops so we have a starting basis for evaluation.

Waterbox, tire pressures come to mind first.

I don't know exactly what time you ran but the DA was around 2300 in early afternoon. That is not ideal. However, it is similar to what we face here in the upper Midwest this time of year. If it makes you feel better, your time would be in the 12s easily had the DA been closer to your track's actual altitude of 827.

Your timeslip would give us more info. Were you getting much wheelspin? I really never did with my MKS but that depends a lot on track prep. My guess is that if you can go back when the DA is lower, you will see 12s.

Don't get frustrated.. I have the exact mods done to mine non PP.. As stated above its all about the da and your sixty foot.. Try shallow staging and bring it up to 2000 to 2200 and nail it.. A shallow stage vs deep stage is about 2 tenths.. Your mph isn't bad I have gone 12.60's at 105.. Good luck..

Ok guys here's the time slips. I feel dumb asking this but was is DA? I keep seeing it but don't know what it means
Density Altitude, it basically accounts for weather conditions affecting the quality of the air relative to sea level. The higher the number the worse you can expect the car to perform all other things being equal(which they never are but it's another frame of reference to compare times at different racks/different days/even the same day at different times a day)

I have run as fast as 12.8@107 with a LMS 93 3bar tune, stat, drop in K&N. Last time at the track I couldn't get into the twelves despite having my best 60' time in this car. Still, beat a Scat Pac Charger.

Your 60ft is a bit high. What are you launching at rpm wise? Tire pressures? Traction control off?

You should be in the 1.8’s in the 60ft which will put you into the 12’s for sure.

I generally shallow stage and punch it at the third Amber, this tends to get me anywhere from .1 to .4 RT but I always throught RT wasn't added to 1/4 times, is that incorrect?

Reaction time comes in affect when you are racing bracket or heads up in a real race format.. The whole package..
Lots of time my sho is the slower car but when we out sixty and cut a light we make it to the stripe first..

Drop pressures in the front to 26psi. Adjust your rpm launch down to 1800 if you hear too much wheel spin... this will be very dependent on track prep..

2000 rpm launch with 35psi would explain the 60fts. Happy hunting!
