For 50$ I ain't mad at it. I could have sanded better in spots to smooth it out. Next time!
I dipped my wife's fusion wheels 7 years ago with 4 coats, did a touch up 2 coats 2 years ago just for where the tire machine chewed the lip a bit and they still look great. I'd take a razor knife around the ford badge or next time take em off the car and knock it out but that's me. I agree those wheels look way better in black

Had a somewhat sunny day so it was time to try and hide the curb rash of previous owner

First time trying plastidip. Used a drill and 80 grit flapper to smooth out the gouges. Could have gone more but these were BAD and deep. Then went to 400 and smoothed them out. Meguiars wheel cleaner, then brush to agitate and rinsed with pressure washer. Used leaf blower to dry it off mostly and then micro fiber towels to dry more.

Threw 4 cans of plastidip in a bucket of hot water while I was doing this and then layered 5 or 6 coats, waiting 20-30mins between each. I didn't do a perfect job but it certainly looks better than it did in my opinion.

This looks a lot better than when my wheels were done by rattle can. For the time/money spent, I think we are doing well.

Tried blacking out the grill. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. In my defense I prefer the blue Ford logo to make it pop, but the badge itself is trashed so figured I'll order one eventually. I feel like it makes it look worse with fresh plastidip

July needs to calm down, What a month its been and its not even over. Started the month with a nice little fender bender that almost ended in a total loss. After brief battle with insurance my car will be saved, still have to deal with the BS ticket I got for being honest (cop said "you're supposed to stop at a yellow light" You stop on red, not when I'm doing 35mph 50 feet from the intersection in the rain and then it changes to yellow) either way my car will be saved and a reputable body shop is doing it and since the insurance found me not at fault at all (go figure) I don't even have to pay my deductible. But I cant get it fixed until the end of next month.

In other news, the 3D printed parts are on eBay finally! here's the link to the store, Ill be adding more as I get them finished.

Post oil change and wheel well liner repair I finally painted the bracket that holds the temp sensor behind the grille. The only part on the car that showed rust. Someone who lives in the desert must have sandblasted the paint off…pshhh

Then, since the mesh is so vast and lonely I added a little flair.

Replaced cracked windows, repaired rims and plastidipped em, swapped out broken passenger side mirror, changed blend actuator behind glovebox, tightened shifter ****, fixed trunk leak, changed tires, alignment done, swapped out, oil, coolant, transmission fluid, swapped out backup camera.

Next thing on the list and it was annoying as it was on cluster saying "check park aid"

Now I have a rear door that won't open from outside (latch on the way) and my gearhead power package arrives Friday

That should be it for a while. I guess I have to put the trim back in the trunk but I'm still a little gunshy that trunk is still leaking so may leave that out a little longer just to make sure.

Last night Matt from gearhead tuning sent me my tune files for my SHO. I installed and took her for a spin.

Wow. It's a lot more car. I ended up losing a piece of aero underneath the car going about 110 while driving and had to go back and get it. It ripped out the hose to my windshield wiper fluid and scared the bejesus out of me while I was hauling butt.

Have ordered intercooler and downpipes so waiting on that now.

I'm kind of tempted to buy meth injection kit while I have bumper off and whatnot to make things easier.

I think after that, performance wise I'll be done for a bit. The car feels different for sure and I can only imagine what it will feel like with next round of mods

New battery on 1996 New Zealand SHO. Been sitting too much and battery died.

Weather is finally better in the midwest, gonna drive it a bit in the next few weeks. 140,000 km on the clock.

Fun watching the looks on peoples' faces when the driver is on the wrong side of the car.

I haven't yet been working on home lab networking and equipment upgrading. yeah it's a money pit and huge time sink. I run a full network and much like cars it's a chain of events that just keeps going.

What’s wild is I just cracked 120k yesterday. On that drive, the CEL popped. My heart sank and I panicked driving until I could stop and check the code. Please no P0016!!! The relief when it was a bank 1 downstream lean O2 code. Short term trims never moved an inch, the whole drive was .89 to 1.1. So, I decided to take a peek underneath anyway, boys… the weep hole be weeping. So the my momentary relief turned back into F!……..

So obviously, she ain’t getting e30 anytime soon.

Ah, the dreaded internal water pump. Might as well toss a new chain on while you're in there.
