Hey guys, new here and not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this type of question. Anyways here it goes.
I have a 2013 SHO, performance package with the 20” wheels etc. I have a Livernois tune and I’m running the 3-bar v11 91 octane tune (I have LMS 87, 89, then performance 91 and 93 octane tunes), I basically just run the 91 since that gas is more prevalent than 93.
The tune is great, and I can really feel the power in sport mode when using the paddle shifters. With that said, I notice a major difference between tune and stock shifting.
When in stock, I can keep my foot on the gas all the way and shift and it won’t “shutter” or “jump”, if that makes sense.
With the tune, I find myself having to ease off the gas a bit in order to get a “smooth shift”. Personally, I like doing pulls from 2nd to 3rd gear, get a lot of HP and torque that way, but if I keep my foot on the gas without letting up, it’s a pretty harsh and aggressive shift, almost feels like I’m going to break something.
I’m wondering if anyone has had this issue, if anyone knows any possible resolutions etc.
Yes, I was told by livernois that the shifting will be more firm at first, but I am roughly 500 miles in and the adaptive tables haven’t seemed to quite adapt to this I guess. I also run a brand new, stock transmission (the other one was shot, so I had to replace it)
I basically just want to be able to keep my foot on the gas and shift relatively smooth. I have read up on some other threads talking about shift pressure, PCMs and TSBs, but I’ll be totally honest I don’t really know what all that means. Also read something regarding transmission mounts.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks so much y’all.

I aint one to tell you what to do son but look into working with another tuner.

I had lots of unresolved shifting issue with them and whatnot....
Funny how the tranny is fine with other tuners with more power

If you are recently tuned by them, I am surprised you are on the V11 tune since there was shifting issues with it. They have a later version that you can request for free that "should" resolve the shifting issues.

Yes, the latest version is V17. They should provide the upgrade for free. They did for me last year. It is an improvement, but still not equivalent to a GH tune. I still experience the delayed 1~2 shift, though not as often, especially after the weather warmed up.

Should I contact them and ask? I assume this is something they can email me? I tried updating my tuner beforehand and since I have a MacBook I wasn’t able to.

I would certainly contact them and ask for the latest revisions. And as you found out, you'll need a PC because a Mac doesn't work.

Few things. How long have you owned the car and when did you first get their V11 tune, before or after you replaced the trans?

Depending on how recent this is, I would assume very recent but that V11 tune is old……I’m wondering if they have the audacity to send a new customer an old tune, proven to be problematic, also during communication with you, fail to mention you should be on their newest V17 version and tell you the faulty shifting of their V11 is normal to be firm at first.

That’s a slew of improper professional guidance and advise intentionally sending you their (Virus) V11 tune and you should tune back to stock immediately and never work with this company again, ever.

If you’ve had the car a while and got the V11 tune when it was their latest and rocked it around for thousands of miles it’s likely a huge part of why you needed to replace the trans. Light bulbs should have been going off in your head prior to reloading the same tune in your new trans….that mayybbbbeeeeee the V11 tune was $hit all along. Seems like now you finally put your doubts into action and posted here. You can suffer more and stick with LMS or let us save you……get rid of their tune and get with a different company. The latter is the best option.

V17 what is that, just V11 with 6 revisions?
I got my first LMS tune in 2018... Not sure if it was V11 or not. I have no email history showing a request for V11 so I suspect that I ordered my tuner around the same time V11 was created, but before complaints were posted.
I experienced all the same issued posted by other victims. I ran UN-tuned for a long time after that.
Then I heard that V17 was available, and I requested this version. (LMS never sent me any notification of a new tune being available, and I had not heard reference to any tune between V11 and V17.)
In June 2021 someone posted a comment about a new V20 tune. I asked about this tune, and was told it is based on "Ford's latest and greatest stock ECU Strategy calibration that your tuner".
I tried it, and it didn't help. I am now back to stock. (My '23 Mach-E GTPE is scheduled for build next month, and the SHO will go to my daughter sans tune/tuner.)
V12,V13,V14,V15,V16,V18,V19?? Probably vaporware... or failed experiments.

Glad you’re not using them anymore. I was responding to the OP “Cordel” and I now see that was a while back.

I'm late to the party but LMS seems to have fallen off. Gearhead or Ortiz are both fairly good tuners, there's always a chance of something being a little off but staying in communication I would say both do well.

I remember on the panther platform Blue Oval Chips used to be the best then the owner went dark for a bit and once he came back all his tunes were wacky like he had a stroke while writing them.

V11 is and was complete dog shit. We have several over 200 page threads on this website just about that tune revision.
