Newbie. Sorry don't know how this forum deal works.
The radio in my 1989 SHO will not eject the cassette tape. This also will not allow other functions to be used. Any ideas? Or I am searching for a Gen 1 unit to buy.

You can search for a used one. The truth is the quality of these units was never great. Alot of problems over the years. Try using the search function. I think I remember a few posts about sending them out for repair with company name and maybe contact info.
I see a few that used to repair not offer that service so you'll have to dig and call and do the legwork
I would contact these companies and see what they offer

Don't have the link handy, but Southern Radio (now Southern Electronics, or something like that) has repaired Gen 1 head units successfully.
