Finally got the '17 SHO back (~26k miles) after getting the "necessary" work performed after purchase...

started with the basics, hopefully all platform approved fluid changeouts: PTU RDU (Redline Lightweight) Coolant (Motorcraft) Oil (Mobil 1) Trans (Mercon LV) Brake Fluid Flushed

then went to the performance side (it's a daily driver tho): New Plugs, Thermostat, v17 LMS Tune (Swapped out from my '18 ExSport) Corsa Cat-back Exhaust (Black Tips) Hawk Ceramic Brakes & Talon Rotors, H&R Lowering Springs...last was tint 20%. Nate (Service Manager) at SweetCars in Fort Wayne, completed all the service work while Brady oversaw the detail side-full Paint Correction and CeramicPro Gold Package application.

Certainly have a long way to go to ever touch the likes of most on the forum...but now I'm stuck on tires. Continental ExtremeContact DW06 or ExtremeContact Sport? Looking at getting a 2554020 with Curva wheels-C300's 8.5x20 (if they ever get them back in stock) Not sure on the offset..any help from the Pros on the forum would be dearly appreciated.

Personally would run Castrol Edge for you oil. If you look at the tests it is really hard to bet dollar for dollar. I switched from Mobil 1.

Keep your eye on V17, is seems there are shifting issues with it. There are better tuners out there. Their tunes shift better and make more reliable power.

I love my Conti Extreme Contact DSW06'S. They are an amazing tire.

I have the Curva C7's (they look like the C300's) and mine are the 8.5 by 20 with a 38 mm offset. They look like this on a pair of H&R for reference.

For oil, I've had incredible gains using Royal Purple. No other switches and I gained almost 1mpg. From Mobil 1 to royal purple=0.8mpg gain. Data was gathered over the same 190mile daily commute. Also so far it has held true in my truck. Also gained exactly the same with a K&N drop in filter. Overall a 1.6mpg gain for around $120.00

I've ran Castrol before and it's probably better value per dollars.

Forgot to mention, simple K&N CAI (brought over and swapped out from ExSport) installed and sent email to AD for trans mounts... not sure how long until he has them ready, but did receive follow up email from him. Unsure if you are tuned or not, but either way make sure you are using Gearhead, Ajpturbo, or Ortiz.
My personal favorite is Gearhead, if you follow any of my posts I can't brag them up enough.
I also highly recommend the continental tires as SM105K advised.

I guess I should've taken these measurements before I bought the parts... I don't see any way this is going to be a weekend/garage install. I have welded a time or two but I don't own one and wouldn't feel comfortable doing it even if a buddy let me borrow one.

Any suggestions before I send it to a shop? I'd like to keep it fairly quiet before I open the cut outs so I'd prefer to not buy an aftermarket exhaust.

I'm pretty sure you can cut the cutoffs down as long as you keep the Y section and a couple inches on either side. You should be able to chop about 2 inches off of it on the long side if the length is bothering you. Maybe 4, depending on if you're counting on the clamps to hold your exhaust together. You wouldn't want them welding next to that mechanism, though, which is why it's so long.

I might not understand your concern ... it LOOKS (from my armchair) doable.

I agree with that. I was just trying to figure out how to do it at home without welding. The clamps are flanged so if I cut off any of the pipe on the Y I don't think I could use them. Oh well, I'll be less likely to have an exhaust leak if I have them cut and welded in.

The motors come off so that shouldn't be an issue for whoever welds them. I have them loosely screwed in for the picture.

So, a couple weeks ago I'm scrolling through LinkedIn and saw a post from a company that I've known for a long time. They were a B to B customer of a company I worked with for 10 years. I went on a business trip with the hiring manager shortly before I left my old job. So I applied....fast forward to last week and I had a phone interview. And now today I'm scheduled for a 2nd Zoom interview this Friday.

I'm so happy that I just agreed to let my wife drive my car to work! I just had to tell someone.

Ok, why I'm really posting is I'm completely burned out at my job. So much so, that I'd even accept a pay cut for a better job. I've even had conversations with my wife about just putting in a notice without finding another job.

So, a couple weeks ago I'm scrolling through LinkedIn and saw a post from a company that I've known for a long time. They were a B to B customer of a company I worked with for 10 years. I went on a business trip with the hiring manager shortly before I left my old job. So I applied....fast forward to last week and I had a phone interview. Oh, I didn't notice flanges. I can understand the concern now. I would go on and get them welded, honestly, as long as it doesn't affect inspections or anything and you plan for them to be a permanent part of the car, just because of potential exhaust leaks.

Yea it shouldn't affect inspections. They also sent cap plates so if some inspector ever gave me a hard time, I could just remove the motors and cap them off temporarily.

Had a toxic work environment from 2012 to 2016. I took a huge leap of faith and associated paycut but damn... it was so worth it! The quality of life has jumped immeasurably.

Thanks! I'm really hopeful for this new job.

The wife and I decided today that even if it doesn't work out I'm still leaving this job soon. Worst case I'll mow grass or do side work until I find something else. The toxicity of this place is unreal. It starts (and mainly stays) at the very top. I've noticed lately that the big man is replying to emails that he's not copied on. At first I thought others were BCC'ing him. Today he replied to a customer email addressed only to me (whom I know he doesn't interact with). So I did a little digging and found where someone has all of my incoming emails forwarding to him. This happened from OWA (web portal), not Outlook (on my laptop). I've turned it off and I'll see if it's reactivated in a day or so.

Other things, like fussing at me for managing specific accounts. "You were never told to manage those accounts" he says in a meeting with half a dozen others. "You have more important things to do". I could forward him the email from 3 weeks ago, where most of those same people were copied, basically giving me down the road for not handling those accounts. I'm salary, not commission. I have no incentive to take on new accounts.

Speaking of salary, I've had 2 raises in 6.5 years. I never really complained because we got decent bonuses. Well a couple years ago the bonuses ended and we were guaranteed yearly evaluations. I asked for mine regularly for about 3 months after it was due and he'd alway push me out a couple weeks until he eventually stopped responding and I just gave up. That was 6 months ago... The list goes on and has for years.

Rant over. I'm not one to hang my dirty laundry on social media so I'll bore you guys with info about someone you (hopefully) don't know details about... Looking forward to a new beginning with no regrets.

And my car made it home safe!! And so did my wife.

The part finally came in after 2 weeks of waiting. finished up with the refill filler neck for the meth kit tank. Completely Custom made. Also finished rewiring make new harnesses and plugs for the kit. I just have a few more things to do to be completely done.. here's a few pictures
