Actually, he was being sarcastic. There aren't [sarcasm] tags (believe me I've asked), so it gets missed sometimes.
Anyway, I see a lot of folks looking too hard at things and picking fights as a result where it isn't necessary. Think everyone needs to lighten up just a bit before this thread goes completely off the rails.
And mjhpadi, I'm not sure what your deal is, but you didn't need to take a dig at the rest of us and our "outdated" SHO's. In the end, we're an enthusiast community, whether it be the old SHO's or the new; there's no need to segregate ourselves from one another because of what MY we each own.
And since we're being
completely honest here, you should know that it was the effort of the "outdated" members of this community who went through great pains to convince Ford that now was time for the new SHO to come back. We were the ones who plastered Ryan's site (
http://www.bringbackthesho.com ) everywhere we could as often as we could to drum up interest in the possibility of a new SHO. We were the ones who sat in the focus groups when Ford took notice and asked "we see what you did there. We have this so far, what would you, as enthusiasts, like to see in the end product?" and answered their questions. We were the ones who posted up someone's blurry ninja cellphone photo of the 2010 Taurus SHO model two years prior to it's debut, and had the whole automotive world collectively say "holy shit, that's a Taurus?" within hours of posting the thread.
(again, sorry about that Ford...)
We could have just as well been content in being one of Ford's orphans, but we weren't, and as a result Ford went off and developed what is by almost all accounts one
**** of an answer to the 1999 SHO.
