Well, after pulling the rear sunshade to fix a rattle there, then realizing that wasn't the rattle I was looking for and removing the passenger door panel, only to find that wasn't the rattle either, I think with Way2Evil's suggestion I was finally able to find the rattle!

Way2Evil suggested the rattle is probably coming from the passenger sun visor area. Sure enough, it was. I was able to open the sunroof completely, then release the headliner from the hook and loop fasteners just enough to see a wiring harness just laying on the top of the headliner. I could lift the harness and let it fall against the headliner which duplicated the sound I was searching for.

So, I rolled a piece of speaker box carpet over the harness and that appears to have quieted the rattle. Yippie!

Pasted below is an image of the harness with the carpet around it.

The seat belt one seems common across all the cars.
My Focus has it too; and most of the time the cars only have it on one side but not both.

The plastic covering that covers the hole where you can slide the belt assembly up and down rattles against each other a bit if a certain frequency of bass hits. Add a piece of stick on foam there at the ends of the plastic to make that stop.
But then deeper inside I think it's the seatbelt retractor stuff inside that rattles over bumps. I have not torn the plastic open to see what's going on in there.

That was not the rattle you were looking for.

Listening closer I think it is coming from the bottom of the pillar the seat belt is on.

I originally thought that rattle was coming from the passenger door too, but found it quieted down by pushing up the passenger side sun visor. Thanks for letting me know what was causing the noise!

SHOrod thanks for the photo! I took that in with the TSB for the rear decklid and the dealership was able to fix all of the rattling noises in the car! She's super quiet again!

Rattle in door?

Mine's not an SHO, but a 2010 Taurus SEL. I have a rattle seeming to come from the left front/side of the car, maybe from within the passenger door. It happens at about 40 mph and faster. I thought it was air flow related, but can't find it. In colder weather below 40 degrees, there's no rattle. Must be a part that loosens up with warmer tempratures. Couldn't find anything under the hood on the passenger side. Nothing in the glove box. Hopefully it's not deep inside the dashboard area. Dealer checked underside of the car - nothing there either. Seems to be getting nosier with time. Consistent noise on smooth roads as well as rough roads. No sun roof. Any ideas?

I had a rattle in the RH front wheel well that turned out to be an undersize push clip. The mechanic described it as one of them holding the splash shield(s) in place in/around the wheel well. He put the next size larger clip in and the noise went away. Mind only showed up around 40mph and up and would also present on rough roads.

Try pushing lightly on the headliner near the right front of the sunroof (photos above) and see if the rattle goes away. Something about this rattle, it telescopes all through the cabin and sounds like it's coming from anywhere but the headliner.
