I'm not doubting you, and I certainly don't want to sound like I'm predicting a rash of failures (I'm not), but I count 2 isolated incidents so far.

What Im saying Jon is that the complete engines have gone through incredible durability tests.. There are always things that can go wrong, lets say that the plugs in this batch could be bad..
Purple ones are ECOSHO Plugs.
If you look, the large robotic arms are installing the plugs, what I did not catch is the laser eye that checks each plug for defects, I would guess that its checking threads, and gap.
Each engine has a bar code etched into the block, so if the plugs on this tray were bad they could go back to see when the motor was built and see if the plugs that were installed came from the same batch. if so then they know what caused it.. and we have warrantys that what they are for.. Sure its a PITA to have to get a new engine but all this is pretty simple to figure out. So the idea of a plug change that early in SHO life is really unthinkable because they have been tested.

AFAIK.. No they are the same.. Ive seen no bullitens on it yet, and have not heard anything directly.

WOW! This is so eerily familiar! A few of us who boost the V6 way beyond reason, have seen exactly this situation. The insulators on (some) IR plugs will crack and can break off (ask TexanTony). It's caused by extremely high cylinder pressures. I believe most of us who boost beyond 15-18 psi have all switched over to copper. I still run IR plugs on most of the cars/bikes I tune, but I am always aware of it.

2011 Long Block is of course back ordered. The dealership will not see it until at least August 8th.

Ford isn't going to give him that option bud. They want those parts all to themselves for diagnosing what happened. If you want those kind of parts, you'll need to fork over some money to the guy at the parts counter.

I'd like to find a set of heads off a blown motor but i'm having a tough time. I can get my hands on a complete engine from a salvage yard in Alabama but I most interested in the headsAlso interested in finding a transmission but those arent too easy to come by yet either!

Damn man, a complete engine in a salvage yard?!? Holy cow! Sad to hear about one just sitting at a place like that. Also sounds like you have an idea in mind with the powertrain. I'm liking your interest as to what you may have planned for the future.

Yeah, I have some things in mind! and luckily I have a great shop very close to me with a great group of guys! I've said this before, I'd like to be the first Gen 4, single power adder, in the 11's, but I've realized it might be a little tougher than I thought, however, still very possible. I guess single power adder unless you count meth/water kit as a "power adder", I'm using it just to allow Dan to press the tune a little and keep things "safer".
Found a trans shop that will supposedly build the trans along with the tc to handle whatever hp I want, so I'm interested to see if that holds true. I'm not opposed to dropping in the final drive ratio of the base Taurus as well.
Anyway, I do have some plans, some big, some small, either way I'm excited about this car and even more excited to see what happens as Ford starts putting the Ecoboost in more and more vehicles. The aftermarket has to catch on then!

Hmmm....
If they have an engine, they must also have a PCM. You could get that setup, play to your hearts content, and if you blow that engine and/or tranny you would still have the stock setup.
Not so much worried about the PCM but I would like some spare parts available when something decides to break. I have the Flex too so extra parts are welcomed.

I wouldn't count meth injection as a power adder bro. It would be like using race fuel IMO. It's just allowing like you said to make for a safer tune. It by itself isn't making power, it's making more power available. But then again, everyones opinion on that can AND will vary. All of my vehicles that are forced induced have meth injection also and have had great results. We can all agree on one thing: Just don't run out.
And it's killer that you'll going to experiment with the Eco powertrain. Definitely keep us posted of what you come up with and you're 100% right about the aftermarket and the Eco motors. They would be foolish not to jump on that and start bringing performance parts to the table.That's the exciting part for me anyway, being on the forefront. I bought my Lighting a little late and felt like I could never catch up although guys are doing insane things with those trucks. I loved my truck but my family grew and I didn't want to try to get the kids in around a rollcage all the time!
I like the experimental part of the new engine. We'll see how it goes. I know Livernois isn't opposed to doing an engine program with the Ecoboost but I think financially it won't be beneficial for them until it's put in more platforms
