I don't really need to do these, but it is a part that is a lot older than everything else, and when swapping out my trans, and strut rods / bushings, I want to put some fresh inner tie rod ends on.

Now, I remember years ago messing with a taurus, and I can't remember what it was that was weird, but the tool you can rent at autozone didn't fit one brand, and I don't recall what it was. Looking on Rock auto brings up about 6 different manufactuer's, so I guess I'm just wondering which ones are the ones you guys like to use.

I'd like it to have a pin in them as the stockers do.. but I'm open to anything..

We actually do have them: SHO Source

What I did though was replace the entire rack as I figured it was about time anyways. Also didn't want to go to the work of replacing the tie rods and have the rack go out.

LoL.. yea I've been debating the liklyhood of the rack itself going out sometime soon. I think if I add it up in my head it has almost 250k on the origional rack. I know there is some slight play in there somewhere between the inners, and I guess it could even be in the rack a little. It's almost not noticable, but when things start to wiggle loose, it dosen't take long before it wiggles a little more loose.. :)

I'll be getting ahold of you one way or another soon man.. :)

Do not use Moog parts. I've had a run of bad parts lately. The parts have not been lasting more than 3-5000 miles.

I will second the moog bashing, I work for a national auto repair and tire chain that stocks moog parts, and they don't seem to last at all. Especially in Taurus related applications, I can think of a few instances of lower ball joints in continentals and gen III taurii that are dangerously loose after only being in for little more than a year. My old SHO needed both outer tie rods replaced, and I went to check the alignment on it a year or so later, and the moog outers were both bad again.
