Just dropped an 8" inch sub in the stock box but the opening for the old 6.5 inch was kinda small.
Should I make the hole bigger or just let it be.
Will it make a big difference in the sound of the sub?
Do I cut from the top or from underneth.
Basiclly, is it worth the trouble?

:thankyou:

I don't think you will be able to tell the difference at all. Bass is like that. That's why we can put subs in a sealed trunk and still hear them just fine.

Well if you go to the trouble of cutting sheet metal I would atleast make a speaker hole through the top piece. And put a speaker cover on top to make it look visually nice.

I think most people just mount the 8 inch in the factory location without modification of the top deck lid. I don't think the difference is worth the trouble or worth hacking your car up.

That just tells people "I have a sub and amp, break my window and help your self!"
