Come on, for Gods sakes, its not like youre having a sex change!!! Do you want 300whp, and 300 ft lbs of torque right off idle, or no?

LOSE THE DAMN INTAKE!!!!

Bloody ****, anyone got a sho for sale?

Btw, Tyler, lemme know when you set up the dyno time. Im assuming it will be between the 12-19th, so I will pop by to check things out. Pity I wont be able to crash the dublin get together. :(

Haha oz your the man........ but on another note, looking at that charger hight, no way my cowl hood will fit in there, maybe something like this?D9 1 Dimensions are appx. 37 inches in length, 29 inches in width, and 3 inches in height.

Well it seems that there is a little bit if interest in this thing. As soon as I am done graduating and get back home I will talk to some local machine shops to see what it would cost to replicate this. If it isnt obscene I will probably make a few for people to tinker with.

Ideally i would cast the blower inlet plenum so i could drop it down to a stock location. I am thinking i could design another one and test it on my already running setup.

If anyone has some input on desing improvements i am all ears. This is my first attempt and in no way think its the best way possible.

Keep this thread clean, please. And lay off the "its not a sho" any more. A 400hp centrifugally supercharged sho is as much a sho as this car is, which in turn is as much a sho as toolmans car. So lets not go that whole silly debate route.

i wasn't trying to flame or bash anyone at all sorry if i made anyone unhappy and i give mad props for the fellow that completed the project and that is all that i am saying.

Dear sweet Cheebus. That is incredible.

Would you be willing to discuss creating a custom hood to house that beast, if
you'd could create another one of those manis?

My fiberglass work

PM if interested. If not, no worries, I'll wait until you can mass-produce! Congratulations, very nice!

Edit. 5 is mine, oohrah!

So Tom you actually made those? They don't look like photochops... What did you carve out styrofoam and then lay the fiberglass over the shape that you wanted? What kinda cars are those based off. More info is defineatly needed! :hail:

Thanks!

Yes, those are 100% my designs, created over existing chassis layouts found in Road and track magazines, blown up to 1:12 scale. The white car is an Acura Integra replacement from 1997, truck is based on a streched Explorer frame from 1998, (Jeep Grand Cherokee didn't appear until 1999!) and the purplish and blue cars are eco-freindly sports models.

They were hand carved from BlueFoam insulation (styrofoam sheets), wood glued, and laid with fiberglass.

Donj't wanna hijack the man's thread though, I'm still in some "shock and awe" here!

I know its still in the process of being done but how much time did this take for you to fab up. Any snags so far or was it just smooth sailing?

Great Work :salute:

Excellent work. The supercharger looks like it was meant to be there :hail: . I adore roots style blowers.

Tyler,

When that boost isn't enough for you, give me a call. I have a smaller blower pulley for an M90. I bought it and never put on the GTP. I was going to sell it with the car, but I think you'd probably get more use out of it than will the old guy who buys the car.
I don't remember what size it is, but it's only slightly smaller than the stock 3.5"? I think it's like 3.4 or something. (It's not the little tiny 3.25")

A clutch on the pulley isnt necessary, it just makes it more complex. The next design feature i will add will be a bypass valve to equalize pressure between lower and upper intakes. After that I will invest in a 1.5L twin screw and see if i can give the vortec guys some real competition. But all this is moot since this one is still new to me.

Very nice work, may I suggest that you dump the LPM and get a TwEECEr? You can tune without a dyno and then go to the dyno to see what your making(and fine tune). You'll also find that the car is constantly learning and the key is to get the computer to not have to make many corrections for the KAMRF. Tuning is not and easy, nor quick process. I'd also find a way to add another idler/tensioner pulley.... That belt may start flapping around. Can't wait to see more!

And I think you're going to need to change your sig a little, to prepare for your track times. You have [email protected] I think you need another X.
It will probably be more like XX.XX@***.XX, because your's probably gonna go kinda fast.

Are you running stock half shafts? I can see many snapping with torque available down low.

first off, you did a fine job thinking outside the box, and for cheap $$'s. thats what makes it so cool. i will have a spare MTX soon and this would be a great thing to mess around with since it uses cheap parts, and i have a gtaw welder. could you post some drawings of the plenums so that they can be duplicated please?

If anyone has some input on desing improvements i am all ears. This is my first attempt and in no way think its the best way possible.

i can think of two things, add a few idler pullies to increase pully wrap and eliminate possible orbiting of the belt at higher rpms, and radius the intake ports (as large a radius as possible) to pickup a cool 3% in flow. also, mabye you should add a blower snout support, it would be pretty easy to cook something up.

awsome job!!! Peace_Corey

Thats the one thing that I saw... The belt looks like it could slip or flap if a smaller pulley was used(increased belt speed, boost, etc). It looks like a big gap between the s/c'er pulley and the next pulley down.

Great work!:thumb: I want one, start making these! :dribble:
