To see all the happy and surprised faces when I handed over the keys to my brand new, practically not yet broken in Gen4 to complete strangers that I had just met for the first time was entertaining to say the least.

I hope you didn't let Kirk do that and take it out of your sight!! Kirk, how much air can it catch over those railroad tracks??? :laugh_ti:

Not necessarily one's fault DJ, however, more often than not, when the Gen4 owners do venture outside of "our" section.....

The "older" members jump all over us and tell us to "stay in your section".

LOL...that was me. And it was 100% sarcasm...I hoped that would have been pretty east to spot...but this text thing...It's a lot harder to tell than verbal.

Thanks Zach, this was the point I was trying to make. We are all here because of the similar interest we share. That should be the basis on which we communicate. We can't let the few "flamers" dictate the direction of us all. The overall point is that it is, through the joining of us all, how our community becomes stronger. All of us need to see that we are all members of the same family. This way we can all share in the past, present and future of these exceptional vehicles. :salute:

Yes, good points I failed to mention in my post. I feel that goes without saying but it surely needs to be said sometimes and is a good reminder.

I salute those ideas too.:salute:

Happy Good Friday everyone and have a great EAster too.
God bless us all and boy it seems like he already has in many ways. Smile

Do you really think these minor changes warrants a "Gen5" designation? It seems like the changes are about the same as the 92 and the 95 SHO.

Mike, you are already in the club.. If you think you can leave just remember I know where you work and i am the best at causing a scene!

Ah 1 adam 12, there is a red truck drifting the entire city streets, dropping beer cans and has your name painted on the side of the truck!

Jason, I do.

To me it's some of the original members (read Gen 1, 2, and 3) who seem to feel superior than some of us lowly newbs in Gen 4 who should not rock the boat -- or even appear to as Unknown_Driver did with his attempt at humour.
That just doesn't seem very fair to me. (poor baby huh ;))

If some of you guys want us to feel more at home then please stop with the defensiveness and barbs back at mistaken and misunderstood comments -- wouldn't it make more sense to clarify at least first and show a little sugar than taking a defensive posture and make everyone feel uncomfortable?

As the 'originalist' member in this thread - with the first response to Unknown, I thought I was giving him the opportunity to clarify his comment. Never heard back. If it appeared I was jumping to conclusions and defensive, that was not my intent, and I don't fell superior to anyone on this forum (except Kirk, and James, and Sam, and....) Guess I should work on my communication skills.

To be fair I have to agree with you, but, yes, we could all do with a little work on our communication skillz, with a little brotherly love thrown in for good measure.
The internet is not an easy place to 'live' ..... :)

Jason, I do.

Fascia change 91-92 12-13
Rear spoiler change 91-92 12-13 aside from the Plus, neither 91 or 92 had a spoiler.
Seat Change 91-92 12-13
mirror change 91-92 12-13
dash change 91-92 12-13
Tail light change 91-92 12-13
Exhaust tip Change 91-92 12-13
rear fascia change 91-92 12-13
Side Badgeing 91-92 12-13
The rest is less drastic than the changes from the 04/05 to the 06/07 STi, but they are still the same generation (GD bodystyle)... but I'll agree to disagree.

Kirk...... I'll be more than happy to bring you guys/gals a beer or two, or three, or four.

Just as I did at the SHOCago BBQ #7, I'll even let all you "older" guys/gals take my Gen4 for another "spirited" spin around the neighborhoods for SHOCago BBQ #8.

To see all the happy and surprised faces when I handed over the keys to my brand new, practically not yet broken in Gen4 to complete strangers that I had just met for the first time was entertaining to say the least.

I did feel quite welcomed and everyone I met there that day/evening/extending well into the night was really cool.

I'm sure, if given the opportunity to do so, us Gen4 kiddies will be more than happy to acknowledge the legends and greats that have preceeded us here on the forums. :hail:

I for one usually play well at the playground and in the sandbox.

For the record Mike contacted me months ago about a SHOcago shirt, we'll see if he follows through with the hazing (pants down, traffic cone, etc) at the next BBQ. And for the record I havn't met a gen IV person I didn't like, all 5 of them, cuz I don't count this forum as "meeting" someone.

Well at least one person read it..

WTF does a STI have to do with anything.. ?? in 08 James implanted Walnuts in his sack, in 09 he used lemons.

STI = Sexually Transmitted Infection
STi = Subaru Technica International

I mentioned the latter.

In either case, if you can't figure out why it was brought up, the posts are still there for you to examine. :)

so i come back and its yadda yadda blah blah blah yadda yadda blah blah blah STI

how the **** did we get to an STI?

I dunno, maybe because folks like me would probably buy a new STI or 330i 6-speed before a new SHO?

It's sad to to see the Gen 3/4 SHO owners at Convention. With the atrophied muscles in their left legs, all they can do is walk in counterclockwise circles!! ;)
