Hey guys I’ve had my 2013 ford Taurus sho for a little over a year now. In this short time I’ve had some fun and had it tuned by Gear Head. That was real fun as the car was already tuned by Ortiz but when purchased to tuner provided of course, let’s just say getting it set to stock and retuned by GH was quite the experience. It came with an airaid cold air intake on it. I have upgraded torque mounts, brand new transfer case/PTU. That job is a joy as well. I am now looking at the EPP hot pipes and transverse intake set up. Looks nicer but does anyone know if they truly do anything other than that just look nicer or is it truly a better product and upgrade?

I have been trying to get my hands on a GH intercooler but they seem to be like a hard find these days. If anyone has one for sale please let me know.

This is my daily driver and I am looking to over time gradually build it up into a great sleeper. I came from the SRT8 platform prior but after two years of pain in the ass problems I switched over. I do 99% of all my mechanic and body work on my own. Originally a Florida car but I have now moved to Vegas and driven it out here, so quite the environment change as well.

All ears on any upgrades or game changers you may have.

I have quite a bit of knowledge when it comes to these cars and the desert.

If I was in your shoes, I would do the following since I did. In post 1005 in the link below, I write a summary of all my mods in one post and the effects it had on my SHO. This was done over multiple years and many revisions with Brad (AJPTurbo) to dial in my hot weather desert E30 tune.

https://shoforum.com/threads/sm105ks-ownership-performance-maintenance-thread.138235/page-51

Find a stock airbox and put that back on the car with a K&N drop in. Couple of reasons why. The desert is a harsh. Wind, dirty, heat ect. The stock air box with a K&N outflows the stock turbos, seals the filter, and has functional ram air. If you upgrade the turbos, then consider the EEP Hot Pipes.

I would save the money on the EPP hot pipes, and forgo the GH IC. I would spend the money on an upgraded High Pressure Fuel Pump. XDI is the play there. Since E85 is available in Las Vegas, I would contact Brad at AJPTurbo and get a good E30 tune. A good E30 tunes really wakes these cars up, and they are golden with hot desert air. The need for an IC kinda gets put on the back burner, because the ethanol cools the charge air in the combustion chamber and pretty much eliminates knock.

Next would be down pipes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I’m still waiting on GH to get more IC in stock hopefully they have some soon. If you guys here or see any for sale please let me know asap. Thank you so much for the advice, I will keep you posted on how it goes as I build her up.

I’ve also got a 2005 Grand Prix Gxp that I completely restored to stock a few years back and just my garage trophy. a Florida car I drove out here to Vegas as well.

@aaron240 has nice intercooler setups on his website.
I'm either going to make my SHO fast this summer or I am going to see Wolf Bros in London. Tough decision.
If I stay home and wrench, I am going to go with one of Aaron's setups and tune with gearhead or Brad, if possible.

Still have the ability to make intercooler piping kits and several other products for the sho.
