Who are you?

What do you mean by "we" in your thread title about inspiring the refreshed SHO? I don't recall seeing you at any of the focus groups or other SHO events. Usually when someone refers to "we" with regard to a group, they actually are/were a participant.

Ugh.

last I checked I was a ford customer

don't read the first post or anything

it was to grab out the people who were there, since most of us Gen 4 guys don't venture out of Gen 4 section and havn't been to the conventions yet to meet everyone...

So the first post was to grab the attention of the people who were at the event, and the second post was to... well, what?

And for the record, the NYIAS doesn't open to the public until tomorrow. We didn't exactly all just saunter into Javits and stumble onto a press event involving the 2013 Taurus and SHO.

No, but apparently you can just saunter into any meeting room at the Javits and help yourself to someone else's catered spread! :laugh_ti:

ugh just watched the video...

who are these people?
You were clearly taking a dig at the people in the video, so instead of backpedaling why not man up and tell people what your problem with the people in the video is instead?

sure if I had a problem with the people in video but unfortunately I don't

you guys need to stop taking the internet so seriously and/or sign up for more forums and understand how they work or joke around...

Not necessarily one's fault DJ, however, more often than not, when the Gen4 owners do venture outside of "our" section.....

The "older" members jump all over us and tell us to "stay in your section".

Can't say some of us newbie's don't try to comingle, but I forgot, there seems to be a double standard around here.....

The older guys can come and do as they please, but the newer guys need to stay corralled in their Gen4 playpens.

It's get'n kinda old really..... :deadhorse:

i am realy getting tired of this gen1,2,3 vs gen4 ordeal. It seems like there is always tension between us. So everybody put down whatever you have against one another and get along. If you dont have anything nice to say dont say it, you should had learned that when you were a kid. There should be no reason that somebody who owns a gen4 would feel uncomfortable about posting in open forums or the gen 1,2,3 sections. same goes with gen 1,2,3 guys posting in the gen 4 section.

This has nothing to do with some imaginary ******* contest people like to have in their heads about which generation SHO is "better", it has to do with someone taking a shot at other forum members and not having the balls to say what's on his/her mind.

sure if I had a problem with the people in video but unfortunately I don't

Ok, so explain the "ugh" to start your comment. You didn't just say that you saw the video and were wondering who the people were, you specifically started with "ugh".

I had to LOL at someone telling ME of all people to stop taking the internet so seriously. Obviously you have NO clue what this forum and the SHO community as a whole is all about. Fun, fun, and more fun (and jolts of Canadian ****** -- cool Canadians)!

Oh, and BTW, when you report a thread to ask that it be closed, saying that it's *** just reflects badly on yourself and helps ensure that the thread won't be closed!

So I assume that the people in the video were invited to the unveiling of the 2013? Next did any of those invited include anyone that owns one of the new SHOs? Please don't make anything out of these questions...just wondering if any of the current Gen 4 owners from the forum were invited? However, let me say that I thought the folks in the video did a great job.

Yep, what a cast of characters (!!). Basically, the "late night parking lot bunch" at the Conventions!

Actually, they couldn't have found a more respresentative group to interview.

However, it's high time that the older members start acknowledging that the new owners coming into the fold are going to carry the torch for the SHO Community for many years to come, much as all of you have up to this point.
I do believe that some Gen4 owners are going to "carry the torch", but how many of the current Gen4 owners are going to be here 10, 15 or 20 years from now?

Change is not the most comfortable for anyone, ****, even some of us 2010 owners are a tad bit jealous having plopped down the amount of $$$ we did, only to be trumped by a newer, refreshed, updated 2013 model looming on the horizon.

That's kind of how the automotive business works. I don't think there was any doubt that they wouldn't improve the car, even based off of the early adopter experiences. Given the way I play with cars, I never buy my 'toys' when they are released. I like to see what the car is capable of, what years become the most desireable (and why) and what parts are produced for the car before buying. I save the new cars for the wife.

I for one like all of the model years and wish all of us can bury the hatchet's so to speak and quit beating the proverbial...... :deadhorse:

Agreed. I never cared for the Gen3, but it's still a SHO.

I agree, but let's admit it happens.

Yes, it does... From both sides. Personally, I never had an issue until a certain member tried to tout how superior he was and didn't have a clue. Not all of us came here because we bought a $500 car to romp on.

Some of the cracks aren't always for the fact someone owns a Gen4. I give crap to EVERYONE, but it's all in fun (for the most part).

Here's a fine example of a Gen4 guy (me) posting a simple comment in a section other than my own a few weeks back......

The next day I notice I got deducted 10 ratings points by a Moderator (which I will not name out of respect for all of the Mods).... but the comment posted next to the points deduction simply stated "stay in your own section".

Although I do not know the thread you're talking about, I do agree that the response you state above is a tad rediculous. Everyone should be welcome to any section of the board, period.

This is what Ken Mallinson, the President of the SHO Club posted on the V8 List earlier tonight:

Ford contacted me and asked me to put together a group for the New York Auto Show. As I was busy and couldn't make the trip, I asked Kirk to put together a group to go and represent the club.

They were invited to the Tuesday (4-19) evening concert with the band Train, and then a early Wednesday (4-20) morning showing from Ford of the debut of the 2013 Taurus & SHO.

I *really* wish I could have gone, but just didn't have the time to drive or budget to fly.

It's all about the chalk lines being accurate, dude is HUGE!!!
Yes there was Gen IV people there, I've done things to some of them when the've fallen asleep outside. I was convinced by ALL that I want a 2013, but I think "Angry black man" should have got some face time.
AFAIC blah blah gen IV blah blah car age means nothing, it's the people.
