Hi everyone! I posted this in the performance/maintenance section. Figured I’d drop it here too…

Happy to be a brand new SHO owner! This seems to be a common post but I have so many questions, and unfortunately I lack the knowledge and tools to do it myself.

Working on cars is unexplored waters for me so much of everything I do will be through Auto Shops and Dealerships.

I purchased a 2015 SHO, I want to know what parts I should buy/can get that will get me in the 460-500hp range.

The unfortunate caveat is that I live in California… So many parts and upgrades are unavailable. Hence why I’m reaching out hoping to access the knowledge of all you SHO folks before me.

I know GearHead seems to be the god given answer to most upgrades. But they don’t ship here…

Any ideas? All knowledge is highly welcomed. I’ve read across these forums a lot and have yet to find much answers from a dumbed down/newbie perspective.

Upgrades I currently have:

Livernois 160 T-Stat
Ford Performance “Cold” Plugs
K&N Cold Air Intake - CA Compliant
Ford Performance Cat-Back Exhaust

read my signature - i link or list many upgrades, sometimes buying through ebay and amazon might be your course I am guessing. the 3 bar map sensor on top of the intake is the go to with a tune from - not Gearhead but AJP Turbo. a simple search of brad ajp will net his contact and then you can ask if he will work in your state or not.

I’ll check out what you got going on then!

Do you have any further recommendations that could get me into the realm I’m looking for? Or is tuning going to be the go to?

I wouldn't worry about the HP as much as the goal. Many people with 3 bar MAP, cold range plugs properly gapped, and a tune is most what people need to get better mpg and performance. This upgrade thing is a rabbit hole. Once the car performs better there will be something that holds you back. More specifically the state of CA.

Personally cutting out the unmonitored cat is a good idea. Less backpressure on the turbos would be better, but makes our exhaust sound worse. 6 cylinder turbos sound like crud.

Things like the intercooler get heat soaked faster, then gas pressure becomes a limitation... Its a much better option is keep it simple.

That makes sense, yeah CA loves to ruin the fun for people who genuinely want to enjoy a hobby.

Where else can I get the plugs properly gapped? I’m only aware of GH.

You can get the plugs at Summit Racing a little cheaper than GH, but you have to buy enough stuff to get their free shipping.
