Well, I decided not to join the last group buy because my SHOwagon already has a chip, but I'm really not satisfied with the programming. It was installed when I got the car so I have no idea who tuned it. Shifts are soft and a knock is sometimes noticeable under load (possibly because of the chip?). I'll have to run a 0-60 with my g-tech to see how this vehicle compares to the '96 running the AmericanMotorsports chip.
Anyway, what is the estimated total $$$. If I knew this x-cal would improve the drivability of my vehicle I'd say sure, but I guess the only way to know that is to try it ... right?

remove the chip, sell it on ebay and buy the X-Cal 1.
for $370 (if you get 10 to group buy), you will be asking yourself why you waited so long.
it works for the V8 and/or the Duratec!
i'm so pleased with my V8 performance now.

Just a thought. You might want to forego the "unofficial list" and just go ahead and make an official list. All doug needs is a credit card info and your in. In my experience you can have fifteen people on the unofficial list, but when it comes time to put up or shut up people have a way of disapearing. It would be alot easier in the end to get it officail then you know what you have to get. It would suck to have 10 on the unoffical but only six when it comes time to make it official. I think doug gives you a discount at like 5 or so.

I put unofficial because I am not Doug Lewis or FPS and I dont want people to think that this is an official group buy. At this moment, I am giving Doug a perspective of how many people in the V8 community still want the product and would like to get it at the group buy price.

works on Duratecs just great.
better mpg.
firmer shifts (which saves the tranny/torque converter).
better air fuel mix (which increases overall performance).
the best part is...
if you don't like it, you can change it to another one of the three configurations, or put it back to stock mode.
once you get to 10 buyers the discount makes it an excellent value.
